One assumes it would have a minimum time served agreement, too. I mean, if he signs this week with a big club release clause, could Man U activate the clause later in the window if they sell Lukaku? :hmm:

Maybe, but then we can go and trigger Maxi’s new release fee
I'm just speculating. Maybe Man U don't have the money until Lukaku goes, or maybe FFP means they can't afford Haller and Lukaku in the same team, so can't bid yet.
I've been thinking lately, I wonder how many of the rumours that are leaked are actually part of the club's disinformation strategy, if any. If I was after Striker A at a decent price, and I knew that my mid-table competition were looking for a good player, I'd use a fake number to text Sky Sports News that we were looking at Striker B and Defender C, and I might even send someone over to meet Striker D, too. Just to keep interest in Striker A low.
Im not knocking Dunk but if I earmarked 45M for a defender (cant believe I even thought about allocating that much for one!) I'd want better than him (hes 27?). Surely there are cheaper options. That said, I'll take him at 4.5M if he joins Leicester for the fantasy premier league
Ohhh, they can have young Oxford and have 42.5M spare....
:puzzled: Just does not make sence about Byram who did he go to ,Also whats all this about xande silva having a medical problem sounds like it could be personal wish him well whatever it is
C&H reporting that we've sold Sam Byram for £750k.
A young, English PL full back for less than a million. Just to put that into context, Luton Town sold Jack Stacey to Bournemouth for £4m.
And their LB went to Leicester for somewhere around £8m. League 1 fullbacks going for that money and we can only get £750k for a good Championship standard player?
Hugill also rumoured to be on the way out. Two English players leaving the squad; what does this do to our homegrown quota? Reduce it, obviously, but do we need to sign any English players?
Lol the only team that would pay silly money for him would be us. The guy (unfortunate as it is) is constantly injured. Who in their right mind would risk spending more than a million or two on such an injury prone player.
The same C&H article says that Hugill's move to Wigan has been called off because they couldn't pay the wages he asked for. I think that says more about Wigan's finances than Hugill's expectations.
A shame for the lads themselves also as I remember when Hugill and Byram signed and you could see both were seeing themselves as on the up and that their chance at the premiership had come, now sadly both leaving without ever really getting that chance. Although to be fair Hugill was a very strange buy to say the least as Moyes didn't even seem to want to play him after buying him.
Sadly we seem to have a pretty ordinary record in recent years of finding genuine quality from the lower leagues
In recent times our best is probably Cresswell or Antonio. The former seems now to be stagnating. The latter has his moments but is still probably a squad player at best. And this is before we mention the incredible Hugill
The players are around - eg the likes of Maguire and say David Brooks however for whatever reason we seem unwilling or unable to find/buy them. I mean even Tyrone Mings (by virtue of his transfer fee) trumps anything we have managed.
Sadly I don’t see this improving as I think Husillos’ main strength appears to be sourcing from leagues outside of the Uk

Or do I need to increase the Omega 3 in my diet?
Who is getting the better deal?

I think somebody floated the idea that this was a possibility on July 11, I wonder who?
Should’ve had another few hours on the bank.

Wonder what we will get for Hughill. 3.5?
Haller time within 48hrs!
I sincerely hope that isn't an accurate figure.
I see it as another £25k off the wage bill
