  • I think the stats don't lie 12 wins last season, none this season 3 or more goals shipped in quarter of our games too many lacklustre displays against the big teams. Last season we played well for a half against palace and resident displays against chelsea in cup and Spurs in the league. Players playing out of position terrible transfers last season these are managers decisions , he got some leeway last year with the move and payet but it's time for him to go . The atmosphere around the club is not good I don't want another season of scraping 1-0 wins against the bottom teams at home being just enough to keep us up

The situation with the stadium is farcical and not what we were led to believe would happen. Having to start the season with three away league games is far from ideal, and then editing a random cup draw when the whole point is randomly selected home and away sides? Ridiculous. The summer window has been average so far. What I would expect of the club. Now we need to add 2/3 more players because of the amount we've let go. We won't though.

But no doubt, looking at yesterday's bench, Slav has got options. 3 games and an aggregate of 10-2 is not good enough. Why he has abandoned the back 3 when we had our best results with it last season I really don't know. We played the last half a dozen games of last season with the 3-4-2-1.
  • Another loss if he is in charge they need to give him the boot asap. Still so angry about yesterday don't know when I'll calm down. If the board can't see he has lost the dressing room after that disaster then they are part of the problem also, they need to act fast for the good of the club before it's too late.
  • Luke we started with three away games but it would have been two anyway so they can't blame that. As for the cup game we should be able to play a league 2 team anywhere without trying to find excuses.
As for Nobles bizarre comments about all the travelling in pre season they beggar belief. Flying to Austria, Germany and then Iceland are hardly exhausting seeing as for holidays they were jetting off to places all over the world.
I said it many times Bilic's first season had a lot of fluke involved. Payet had a major influence but all the usual top 6 or so had for them poor seasons.
I can in no way condone Payets actions in January but I can sympathise with him now as I can see that he knew that under Slav this club is going backwards as we have no obvious tactical ideas or any kind of playing plans.

I'm of the opinion that although quite frustrating the away pre season, three away league games and the cup game is a bit of a smoke screen. It hides what is going behind the scenes.

If you look at our record over the past 20 years, we have either been poor at home, poor away or both (leaving out the anomaly that was the last season at Upton Park) with no rhyme or reason.

I just think we are tackticly inept and poor at some of the very basics. Given how Bilic talks about football this surprises me greatly.

If we have poor players I could sort of understanding it but we don't....
  • I 4 1 really hope that Slav is given a chance to turn this around..he has proved stubborn at times with his selection / Formation... This is his time to react or I do fear for his position...
The players selected could also do him a favour on the pitch...
  • I've noticed something else... Gareth Barry has just done it and I notice Darren Fletcher doing it too. Making on field decisions and organising the defence / midfield as circumstances change.

I haven't seen a player do that for us, or have I missed it?
  • I think we all know the answer to that..
  • I think Bilic will be gone in the next 48hrs. Westley will probably be in charge for this game
  • If they get rid I'd fully expect them to have somebody else liked up. Well, I'd really, really hope so, anyway ;nonono
  • The telegraph reckon bilic is staying to be given more games to turn it around. I have to say I don't think the board are going to sack him, as they would have probably done it by now
  • I think slav won't be in charge by the bolton game, all this nonsense about it being 3 games in is wrong, its 3years in and if anything our defence is worse and we haven't changed tactics since day one,we have two ways to play either its a back 3 or a 4 and that's it, we are continually playing people out of position then wondering why they are rubbish!
I think he was close to getting the push last season & now the daves are making some very damning noises about Saturday especially the subbing of rice plus the ineptitude of the team performance makes me think that they will go for benitez while he's making upset noises at Ashley.
  • Don't think they will sack him (yet) and nor do I want them to either.

Realise the poor form has been going on a while with only 5 wins in 25? But I never like to see a manager fired after just a handful of games at the start of the season

Keep the faith and let's hope he can turn it around

    coyi
  • Can't agree with you there SCHB

He has had an awfullly long time to make progress particularly in defence and has failed to do so. And likewise on the fitness fromt which is shocking. There is not even the slightest indication that there is any sort of a coherent plan in place when a game kicks off. It is quite simply not acceptable and giving more time to the person reposnible is now not the answer IMO

If more time is to be given it should be to de boer at palace

The Daves have been more than fair to him thus far, and backed him further when previous transfers of Slavs choosing have failed lamentably.
  • I said this in pre season when everyone kept saying it is only about fitness and nothing else. We didn't look then as if we had any ideas at all and were clueless and all over the place for the most part. I said it looked as if we'd roll up at old Trafford and they would say "we are all fairly fit so now what do we do", Slavs response probably "I don't know it's up to you".
  • Have to agree with you baracks.
A new manager and offload ac and mn.

The club needs to take conscious steps to move forward instead of drifting aimlessly along with no pattern or shape to our play.
  • Bilic I hear has decided that he is going to play Hart up front and Arnautovic in goal.
He will then be puzzled why they don't perform and decide they want to leave the club.
  • I really like Bilic, but unfortunately he has to go. Problem is who will replace
    him. ;hmm
  • Paddy Power has Benitez as favourite (5/2) but he's going to want to spend money so unless the Daves can guarantee that he won't have the same problem he currently has at Newcastle then I can't see why he'd be interested.

Second favourite is Roberto Mancini (11/2) although why he should quit Zenit St Petersburg when they're top of the Russian League and are currently the 2nd highest ranked team in the Europa League to come here is beyond me.

On 8-1 we have Simone Inzaghi who is unlikely to leave Lazio unless forced out and Fulham's Slavisa Jankovic. Marco Bielsa is on 9-1 but he only joined Lille in May

Eddie Howe is in there at 11-1, Roger Schmidt of Beijing Sinobo Guoan on 12-1 with Alan Pardew, Roy Hodgson and Marseille's Rudi Garcia all on 14-1.

After that it just gets silly with Ryan Giggs, Brendan Rogers and others.....
  • As I said I know it's been going on for a while, in fact the defence piece most of his tenure, but people wanted entertainment instead of BFS right? Well this is the transition point for me....he's only got so much time but I fear many of you could be frustrated at least the short term as I don't think he will go yet

Also, if you're gonna ridicule the bloke at least end with a ;lol or something, the other thing I noticed on social media now is many of our fans trying to "hound" Noble out with just sheer abuse, not on imo but a WHU trait for some of our fans unfortunately.
  • The Dave's would need to move fast, agree to release Rafa from his current deal, sack Bilc, get players in before Friday all that and sully is off on his jollies, not happening I doubt

Would Rafa work for these two? Or perhaps he would convince some players to come? Still that doesn't help with us struggling to get the real big signings over the line last couple of summers

I think SB will still be here and he will get a results against Huddersfield,
  • Why wouldn't Rafa work with the daves? He was supposedly prepared to do so a couple of seasons ago before the dream gig came about
  • I don't think Rafa is the answer
  • Neither do I Image.

I didn't want him when he nearly came to us before and was very pleased Real swooped in when they did.

I didnt want Bilic either but am gutted it appears not to be working.

I do really hope we play much better against Huddersfield and get a win, that we turn some sort of a corner. I do though think the writing is very much on the wall.
  • Slavs not going anywhere IMO. If he were it would have happened by now

So time for everyone at the club and its supporters to pull together and hope we notch our first three points v huddersfield.
  • I don't think he would want to work with them, I'm not sure he's the answer either. Now there could be an argument that if you can work for (not with as he's not involved day to day) Ashley you could work with anyone?

Even though he was supposedly hours away from signing according to Sully I have my doubts about certain things that our chairmen say. Just my opinion that's all.

Barracks well said. I'm almost willing 6 points from the next two games just to see how many in our fanbase react
  • How is what have been seeing for ages a transition point ??? At least big Sam knew what he wanted to achieve and how his team was to play . Slav has no idea what way he wants to play or he is terrible at getting his thoughts through to his players .
There is also certainly no entertainment in the way Slav's team plays either.
As for Noble he was finished at the top level a while ago.

This is so funny, if only I had the time to go back and find your posts about Big Sam, I'm guessing you WERE NOT praising him for having a plan.....especially in those final 3 wins in 21 games and not being backed by the owners in the Jan window when 6th or with a contract extension after doing everything they asked (see the similarities here). Bilic has made some big mistakes that's for sure, he's also given us bundles of entertainment and a player whose the best we've seen in over a decade, he deserves more time imo

Re Noble that's your opinion but less that two years ago he was doing the business, very few did well last season. But you miss my point, it's the way the fans are laying into him not that he shouldn't be removed from the side

  • I would much rather see Slaven shape up and find the answers. We have a strong squad of individuals, it's up to him to turn them into a team.
  • I didn't like big Sam's style but he knew what he wanted and how his team should play.
    How is that funny?
