Tyrique George available from chelsea, evertime I've seen him he looks electric but I guess the PSR chelsea machine keeps rolling and academy players are valuable
No idea what he'll cost but if it's £20mil ish we should be all over it, we are crying out for pace and who knows when Summerville is back.
George excelled at youth level and broke through Chelsea last year, that's the type of signing we need to make
Even if we have to put a sell-on clause or a buyback of more than 2 times what we pay for him it's ok it's how we will progress
candbsky, How much are we going to accept for Bowen or even Paqueta for that matter?
I wouldn't accept any offer for Bowen at this point as it would probably relegate us, but would probably accept 50m for Paqueta as long as we had a replacement lined up.
My point was from other clubs point of view, Bowen must be thinking 'well here's a wasted season for me', and were I Arsenal, Liverpool or City I would be letting it be known we'd like to sign him. Most of our players are what make us what we are at present but Bowen is way above our level at present.
I don't really understand why there hasn't been a lot more interest in Bowen. I can only think he's making it clear via his agent that he wants to stay, given his family situation. Because he is so much better than the rest of the squad
Arsenal just signed Madueke and Eze, Saka is expected to be out for four weeks but they they also have Martinelli, Trossard, Nelson and Nwaneri to fill the winger slots
With us Bowen is guaranteed playing time, with Arsenal he'd spend a lot more time on the bench
I do think bringing in Sterling & Bissouma (loan), as well as Hackney & Fernandes would really give us a boost. Yes, there are better options out there, but we have 6 days to go & the squad is short & struggling to attract players.
I've never heard of Magassa until today, and I've never watched Hackney play. But if any of these guys can bring energy to the midfield I'd be happy with any and all of them. I personally would take Bissouma too, but I know some are less happy with that.
It's concerning that we may be in desperate buying territory, none of these give the impression of targeted and tied up. Potter had a long time to come up with a list.

The same names have been linked all summer, and I'd suggest that those were on Potter's list - Mateus Fernandes, Raphael Onyedika, Harvey Elliott, Tyler Morton. If the board / the recruitment team can't deliver on that, then I guess we are where we are.
I think we need two CMs in for Sunday. We line up v Forest with JWP, Rodriguez & Soucek in midfield we are done. Soucek the only one who should be in with a chance of playing.
I really honestly think it’s the midfield that’s the problem. Two physical, mobile midfielders will make a huge difference to us. Kilman, Aguerd and Todibo are a good set of centre backs, but they’re exposed constantly by porous holes in the midfield. Personally, I think Fullkrug, Wilson, Bowen, Paqueta and Marshall are plenty of CF options, but if one popped up I wouldn’t be against it.
I think so but does that stop us dealing with crosses? The winner last night, Diouf stands off & turns his back, the striker is not being marked tightly & two defenders are not goal side. I don't think CMs with energy change that.
Three corners let in against Chelsea, again I am not sure CMs change not dealing with the initial ball into the box.
I would agree the penalty shows why Rodriguez is not good enough. Maybe a better CM we don't go in 1-0 down. Areola was at fault (IMO) for the second.
It may bring confidence & protection to the defence, but we are not doing the basics very well. I do agree we ask too much of our defence, but at the moment it's the basics.
I think people are being very quick to write of Hermansen, tbh. He’s obviously had a rough start, but the guy was regarded as a very good goalkeeper based on last season, and a very good signing literally three weeks ago. My Leicester supporting friend said he was their best player last year (obviously pinch of salt as they were terrible). He’s clearly a better goalkeeper than he’s shown in his two appearances, he’ll get better.

But again, he isn't going to join us over Palace who have something special with Glasner who I genuinely feel is destined for the top

Magassa (DM/CM/CB) due for medical. Deal agreed with Monaco. 5 year deal. 21 years old. £17m.
Sangare (Forest) in talks over a loan with an obligation to buy.
Bissouma (Spurs) is apparently another player we have bid for (according to Ex).
Hackney (Boro) is another we have bid for, according to Ex.
We have up to four more bids in for other players, other than the four mentioned above.
Hermansen
Todibo - Kilman - Aguerd
Wan-Bissaka - Magassa - Souček - Diouf
Bowen - Paquetá - Summerville
Is that side good enough to stay up? I think playing Paquetá as a false 9 is better than Füllkrug.
I'd say, after Magassa, we need a CB, CM & ST before Monday.
