We don't need another striker IMO we have Bowen, Fulkrüg, Wilson, Marshall plus other attacking wide players, also it is highly unlikely we will find one before Monday. Any late incomings are likely to be defensive.
Although I would like another striker, I believe goals will come whoever is up front providing we sort out midfield. Bowen is best on the right. Paqueta or Summerville on the left. Wingbacks to provide crosses. Fullkrug and Wilson will get goals providing they get balls into them.
We must be bringing in a CB then; our current 4 is 1 light if we're playing a back 3 imo, but going into the season with only 3 would be crazy, even if Potter wants to utilise other players, such as AWB, there.
If Aguerd left and Charlie Cresswell came in, I’d be happy with that. Cresswell’s vocal and good in the air, and in the middle of our back three I think he’d do really well. But Dawson should come in too and be the alternative option. Idk who mentioned Dawson first, but I’m very into this idea.

Yeah, I'd be more than happy with that. He's probably a bit slower than Aguerd, and less cultured with the ball at his feet, but he's much better in the air and hopefully wants to be here, which, it seems, Aguerd doesn't want to be.
So I went on to the oracle that is Twitter to see what they say about the Paqueta situation and we can possibly see what actually happens by close of play.
1. Deal agreed for 47m including loan fee, obligation to buy and addons. Paqueta wants to go. 2. Potter does not want him to go and insisting he stays 3. Paqueta does not want to go and his family are settled and want to stay where they are but an agent close to Sully is leaking this stuff to get the move done as they couldn't sell anyone else. 4. Villa pushing for the sale but West Ham want to keep him. This one makes no sense as Villa cannot cause the deal to happen unless meeting a valuation of our asking, and if we don't want it to happen that valuation is 100m.
£50m for Paqueta is a lot of money. You can see why the club might be tempted to sell.
I still think it would be madness to let him go on the penultimate day of the window. However, £50m is a lot for a player who I still don’t know where his best position is. It may well just help the overall balance of the side.
Personally I dont think he will be a great loss if we can get a more energetic / mobile replacement. Will miss the bit of magic he sometimes comes up with but he does fade in and out of games a lot.

I still feel, with our current squad, our best bet is Paquetá as a false 9 & he's not even a striker.

Surprised Potter hasn't pushed for Dunk or Duffy
But if we’re selling him and not bringing in an attacking midfielder that would be a bad decision at this stage of the window
If that is the case he’s not being replaced.

We have to be wage capped right? Why are we getting such a low fee for a good player
Good luck to him, been a pretty good signing for us
