  • It appears to be a good way of using the transfer window then you aren’t made to pay over inflated fees at the end of it when selling clubs know you are desperate for players. Liverpool did most of their transfers early & they won the Premier League last season.

Add Bissouma and we may have a midfield.

Bissouma off on loan to Galatasaray allegedly
  • A lot of talk about the Southampton deal for Fernandes being a long drawn out haggle due to the JWP connection. We wanted to pay 45m plus JWP but they got us down to 42m and we keep him. At least Fernandes is here now.
  • Latest from Sky Sports News' Chris Reidy:
Soungouto Magassa is currently undergoing his West Ham United medical.
West Ham have agreed a £17.3m deal with Monaco fore France U21 midfielder.
Mateus Fernandes has also been undergoing a medical today.
West Ham agreed a deal worth £42m deal with Southampton for the midfielder.
  • I anticipate offers for Paqueta during the next couple of days and I hope we are not considering Fernandes his replacement? If we get a too good to refuse offer we need a serious player lined up, Grealish would have fitted the bill but failing a really good signing coming our way Paqueta must stay. Then we can let him advertise himself for a move by playing as he once did if he wants one.

Apparantly we want £60mil and I
think that's a deal we have to consider

He's on one of the highest wages, is 28 with 2 years on his deal it's probably the most we'll ever get for him

We've had 3 years of Paqueta, I think he's always flattered a little we've since flashes but we've never seen him play consistently or recover the form he showed at Lyon

This midfield is broken, if his sale is allowing us to bring in Fernandes / Magassa and (hopefully) someone like Harvey Elliot then I'd sell him
  • If medicals were today, I guess there may be announcements tomorrow?
  • Thing is I still think Paqueta could be the difference between us staying up or going down .Even if he shows his magic in say 6 or 8 games could be 10 points we might not get without him .Also its a big season for him with the world cup next summer so sure he will push himself Really don't want to loose him Even if we sell him in the summer for 30 mill will be worth it if we stay up
  • 12pm tomorrow to be signed to play Sunday. We really could do with them. Otherwise it’s the same midfield & a 3-0 loss.
  • I just don't see Paqueta leaving, signings or not.
  • Spurs have signed Xavi Simons for £60m, attacking mid, they won’t be moving for Paquetá & nor will Villa now Rogers is not going to Spurs.
  • I do believe Magassa, Fernandes & Summerville coming into our squad over the next two weeks will make us significantly better & more fluid, but it it not going to transform our back three & their inability to deal with balls into the box.
  • BBC Transfer Gossip

Paris FC's 19-year-old French defender Dimitri Colau will undergo a medical at West Ham on Saturday before signing a four-year contract with the Hammers. (Footmercato - in French, external)

Hopefully he will be as good as the last French Dimitri we bought

    Here's hoping
  • Busy old medical unit innit.
  • Ex saying Magassa has signed.
  • Who is next then & who is leaving?
  • BBC report we are interested in Charlie Cresswell of Toulouse before the deadline day, should we lose Aguerd.
  • Really hope these two young lads work out for us. Please give them a bit of time to find their feet and don’t slag them off when a pass goes wrong in their first games.
    Ta.
  • If we’re prepared to support & be patient with Potter & the team, I really do feel we could have a bright future. It may be painful initially, but I think we need to give it time, even if this season we simply stay in the PL (not saying that should be our aim).
  • I'd forgotten we still had Cornet on the books.

Hopefully for both Cornet and the club he gets a move away this window.

Can't see anything permanent happening, he's never going to get anywhere near the wages he's on here anywhere else, so he'll just keep going out on loan with us paying most of his wages until his contract is up.

Not our fault wrt to signing him imo, just rank bad luck that he got a freak injury.
  • Cornet apparently back in talks to return to Genoa on loan.
  • We also do need a striker, if you look at our goalscorers list from last season, it doesn’t make pretty reading. Only two above 5 goals (Bowen & Souček) & half the players on the list won’t be here come Tuesday.

    Lack of goals.
