I find the whole thing bizarre really. All football fans have a means to protest and that is by not going to games. Why on earth a group of fans believe that they have the right to tell the board what to do is beyond me. If they want board representation then why don't they invest a few million and it's theirs. i don't get this "sold to us" idea either as who bought into anything. The club decided they were moving and fans had a choice to go or not to go Maybe someone can clearly explain to me what these so called real fans are doing in my behalf and what they expect to achieve.
Very selective - and on what basis isn't clear. Maybe a group member can shed some light on why some people who wanted to join the FB group were allowed in and others were ignored.
The RWHFAG appears to accept anyone who request to join on FB, you can donate if you want, if you supply your email then members can get founder packs, I really don’t see where it’s excluding anyone unless you really think there is no need or room for change, then you obviously wouldn’t join.
I can’t believe that there is a large group of fans that think everything at the club is just fine?? I’d be staggered.
This is 70 different groups and forums all coming together behind the RWHFAG banner. I don’t necessarily agree with the “real” part of the name, it was always going cause a bit of a divide, however I think it was designed to separate themselves from the owners who claim to be fans and possibly the number of day trippers/tourists and other clubs fans that attend the LS. (I could easily be wrong on this).
I think this group feel that the SAB got nowhere, not all their fault, as they were “forced” to sign NDA’s, now they have the numbers they have some traction, I really can’t see how this group hurts the wider WHU fan base, surely some of the changes will be for the better of all?
Any club with clear fan involvement and discussion has to be a good thing no?
How ridiculous to think that the club will send in 'undercover agents' to infiltrate a group of fans who believe they have the right to dictate how the club is run. If they're not happy stop going to games if in fact they do all go to games. Individually I would suspect that a large number of these people have little or no idea what it is exactly that they want or expect to get but think it would be fun to stick on one the owners they font like. I think it's sad that they are protesting and marching on the day that the club are commemorating Bobby Moore.
I think we’ve seen the other options previously, the SAB and to a degree WHUISA that kind of thing, so Mrs G what do you suggest to get the owners/boards attention?
I’m honestly curious.
I would say that if you have around 15,000 people all signing up to an action group then that is a pretty signficant number of disgruntled fans, surely no club wants that, therefore the talking has to start on both sides.
The owners have done some decent things over the years but they’ve also had some mad mad moments and what with the move, the +2 etc the they’ve brought some of this upon themselves
When 50% or whatever of the fans walked out of the stadium during games when we were playing atrociously and died on our feet 70 minutes into the games, the owners sat up and took notice and replaced Bilic.
Fans are stakeholders in the club and they have every right to voice their disapproval. The club can go ahead on things without them but a football club is not just it’s staff, stadium and owners. We can call them businesses but they’re not conventional ones - they can’t easily find new ‘customers’.
Even if I dislike elements of this group, I think it’s healthy to have this process. The club needs to work out how to handle it, not thinking those who shout are the only ones who want to talk but equally they shouldn’t have to shut up because what concerns them doesn’t concern others. The club has to bridge that but if it does, with some kind of proper, representative mechanism for listening to various groups, then I think we come out in a healthier position than we started in.
They haven't accepted everyone. How many they haven't accepted, I couldn't say.
Again, I haven't suggested that RWH... hurt the wider fan base, and I can't think of anyone who has?
I can't think that anyone has suggested that everything is fine.
I can't think of anyone who has suggested that things couldn't be better.
My point was simply that, since they have chosen to be exclusive, if the club are going to consider significant proposals they put forward, then that should involve consultation with the wider fan base. Even if the proposal was a joint one, with KUMB and any other WHU alphabet soup out there, I'd still feel the same way.
Personally, I'd say even if they only asked current ST holders, that would give a reasonable cross-section.

I said as much earlier. ;ok
When they invited views on the last badge change, they gave all people with a purchase history a vote.
Any new proposals that lend themselves to a similar 'poll' type consultation should, imo, go through the same process.
The Real West Ham Fans can surely have no objection to that, if they genuinely are aiming to make things better for the fans (even the unreal ones)?

Yes ;ok and not thinking that they are the ones with the 'right' ideas.
Who exactly are you referring to with your 'Simple Minds' Jibe Mrs Grey ? The RWH protesters , Me, anybody not as clued up as you are, grubby working class oiks who dont share your views ?

So that would be your answer then Thorn, just stop going, there’s your protest. I don’t believe they think they have a right to dictate how the club is run, they mainly want to stop the nonsense that board engage in, I would also say that plenty within the group that know exactly why they’re protesting, yes it is sad, it’s sad that it’s come to this, perhaps if the board/club didn’t make as many mess up’s it wouldn’t of led to this

But the RWH... group is exclusive, and selective, so they can not legitimately be said to represent West Ham fans in general.
I would hope that any kind of substantive proposals the group made would be put to the wider fan base if the board are going to consider them.

Maybe someone can clearly explain to me what these so called real fans are doing in my behalf and what they expect to achieve.
Fair enough, although the impetus appeared to come from RWH.
I feel my point still stands, however.
This isn't the first time you have (wilfully?) mis-stated my viewpoints/positions.
I'm not going to bother to respond to your post, since it has nothing to do with what I said or suggested.
If you can be bothered to actually read what I post, and respond to that, fair enough, otherwise it's just a waste of keystrokes.
And are happy to ignore the views of those who don't, or the views of those who haven't joined the group.?
That's fair enough ... but then they can't claim to be representative of the wider fan base.
Maybe that's how they come up with their definiton of a 'real fan'. A real fan agrees with them ;ok

Really happy with everything, or a member of the 'real fans' group.
Thanks for simplifying it.
Simple solutions for simple minds ;ok

Oh, that's right, no one.
I’m honestly curious.

Still waiting to be allowed in.

But as you yourself pointed out in the context of the vote on the badge change, if you turn it into a % it isn't really a huge %.
They haven't accepted everyone. How many they haven't accepted, I couldn't say.

If you want to play 'working class trumps', I'm pretty sure my hand beats yours.
I can't think of a single post that has suggested that fans can't say pretty much whatever they want to.
Who has said West Ham isn't more than Gold, Sullivan and Brady?
Anyone?
Maybe that's why you don't understand. ;hmm
I find that insulting.
I can’t see what’s wrong with it.
