I am personally happy with Zabaleta, we wanted a quality RB and now we have one, I agree with Greys comment that he will give 100% each and every game and no-one can ask for more than that.
Assuming he remains injury free, this is West Ham after all, I think we will get three really good years out of him and provide time for others to develop.
He may well have positional sense but if he's trying to get to West Ham from Euston by getting on a train to Manchester, it would suggest he's got a hopeless sense of direction.
Zabaleta will be a good signing for possibly two seasons. You need only look at the send off afforded him by Man City fans and their view of him to let you know we have got ourselves a proper full back.
He doesn't have long as stated and is likely on big money but we need character and experience in defence as our full backs all season have been either filling in our been short on premiership experience. Zab lacks neither a proper full back with bags of experience at the top level........ exactly what we need.
Well done for getting him and quickly if it all goes through.
I can't help but thinking that this whole 'older player helps younger player' notion is a bit of a myth and spin. Will it really happen this way in the case of Byram? What will help him more IMO is having a better defensive coach working with him (and others) than the one we've got.
I put it out as an idea. I've read lots of players talk about how they learn off other players.
IF we get Zab, I'd be very surprised if there aren't things he can help Brian with, and very disappointed if the club didn't take advantage of his knowledge and experience.
Apparently he is very close to Iheanacho and helped him a lot hen he first burst onto the scene.....maybe he can be a key to securing his signature infront of the likes of Everton
Todays new striker link is Martin Braithwaite from Toulouse ;hmm
I don't know anything about him but really can't get very excited just because of the name. Sorry. It brings to mind the Chief Executive of the Traffic Cone Initiative on Cleethorpes Town Council rather than 20 goals a season. Can't we for once be linked with the likes of feisty young Romanian striker Vlad The Impaler.
Wouldn't be the strangest thing as we are clearly talking to City through the Zab deal, a well respected team mate he has known for a good while speaking highly of and moving to us could be all he needed to take a punt on us as we are on him.
I think it would be a great deal if we could pull it off, long term if Fletcher and Martinez can get up there too alongside Inehnacho that's a strike force that could go for a long time all 3 around the 20 age mark.

RB sorted, now what about up top.

Can't help but feel they forgot the decimal point...
If someone bid £20m I'm sure they'll sell.
Bit like the old classic 'Tomkins to Newcastle'

Who's 'mything' or spinning it?
