    The Athletic claim that it was Leicester that rejected Potter

    First and foremost Potter would have wanted a bigger salary than Cooper but in addition they were concerned that he wasn't "enthusiastic" enough about the Leicester job, possibly more interested in future moves to Manchester United or England (nod to Alderz)

    If you're a manager looking for a payday then fine. But Leicester have a cloud over them and do not have past financial clout. If I was Potter I wouldn't even have considered them

    Burnley set to appoint Parker
    Latest from Sky Sports reporter Mark McAdam:
    Burnley are close to appointing Scott Parker as their new manager.
    The former Fulham, Bournemouth and Club Brugge boss is on the verge of a return to the dugout.
    There are formalities still to be completed before a deal is complete.
    Sky Sports News understands Parker could be confirmed in the role by the end of the week.
