  • Fancy a pint?

    :p
  • Is there no space for the lactose intolerant around here?
  • I think 3-4-1-2 is the way forward with the signings we're making.

    GK: Fabianski / Areola
    RCB: Zouma / Kehrer
    CB: Maguire / Ogbonna
    LCB: Aguerd / Cresswell
    RWB: Coufal / Johnson
    RCM: Ward-Prowse / Soucek
    LCM: Alvarez / Downes
    LWB: Emerson / Maatsen
CAM: Paqueta / Fornals / Benrahma
    RCF: Bowen / Cornet
LCF: Antonio / Ings / Mubama

I think that's a pretty healthy squad for this season, and would get the best out of the players. My concerns would be a lack of pace (still), and an ageing squad (still), but I think things change so quickly in football and in squad makeup that I'm not as worried about ageing squad as some people. (Though I do completely understand the complaint of us kicking issues down the road)

Downes is said to be going to Southampton on loan as part of the JWP deal.

So potentially it's Rice, Lanzini, Paqueta and Downes out and Alvarez and JWP in.

We must be in for at least one more midfielder, possibly two if Paq does go. McTominay? Gallagher? Fofana? Sangare?

If we go into the September with Coufal and Johnson as wing back options, I think we'll have dropped the ball.

    Let’s not forget Antonio
  • I don’t think we can consider a back 3 without a new RWB.

As things stand, it has to be McTominay seeing as Moyes is obviously getting backing now if we're wasting money on both Maguire and JWP.

Yeah, I have a feeling it'll be him if anyone.
  • Where. Is. Alvarez.
  • a small town in Argentina
  • Ross Barkley to Luton Town FC.

    We should have been...

    ;)
  • Mrs Grey, plagiarism is not a great trait.😉
  • It was an 'ommage

  • Mrs Grey, is that summink to do with eggs?

No, I think you're getting it mixed up with a frittata.

  • Not sure if anyone else agrees, but I do believe the press. (e,g, Sky Sports) are partly respon#bile for unsettling players on behalf of (especially) the big six. Theoretically the buying club cannot approach a player under contract, so they tell the press in order to unsettle the player. They know most players have little loyalty, and want to play in the champions league, so will demand a transfer.
Whatever happened to the idea of a contract?
Thinking Pacqueta to Man City. Think we should hold out rather than making Man City even stronger.

I think it's something like Camembert Lite. =)

  • Has Alvarez been announced by Spurs yet?
  • City only prepared to pay £60m for Paquetá, apparently (Sky)
  • So are we going to delay JWP signing so he can wave goodbye to the Saints fans, when we could really do with him in the squad on Saturday? Weird.

Has Alvarez been announced by Spurs yet?

Nope but we've almost wrapped up signing of a Edson Alcaraz according to the BBC's live blog.
  • Should be announced this evening/tonight.
  • Max Aaron's to Bournemouth for £7m.

Wouldn't have minded him for that price. A decent RWB option.
  • Alvarez likely to be announced tomorrow, now.
