    Do you think we're planning for Scamacca's departure? i.e. looking at potential replacements? Or will Moyes make do with Antonio, Ings, Mubama with Cornet and Bowen as emergency options?

    All in good time. Dave has a busy day ahead of him. He's got to take some library books back, then he has to pop to Sainsbury's as he's run out of baked beans. If he gets time he will look at making a list of potential signings.

    Also think it’s pretty funny to say that 6 points means you “comfortably” survive relegation, but hey ho.

    We're really pushing our luck if we don't try to replace him imo. Antonio isn't what he was, and will be even less so if he's pushing for a move and it doesn't happen; he's been "sulky" enough on the pitch this past season as it is. Ings will pick up some goals, but I'm not sure he'll be suited by how we set up, and Mubama could be anything; he might prove to be great, but he's very raw still and could easily not be able to cut it in the PL.

    Yeah, I just haven't seen many links to strikers, is all. Some supposed interest in Broja again, but nothing more than that really.

    I'd hope that if we are considering letting Scamacca go, we have someone lined up to come in. But we said that about Haller, Dawson and Rice.

    “Some” being the important word.

    As with Payet and Arnautovic, if Scamacca wants to leave then there's no point keeping a sulky player hanging around spoiling the atmos in the dressing room and at the training ground

    Broja reported by various sources now wants to stay at Chelsea to fight for his place although Ex reckons we might try for a loan deal (which certainly sounds like us)

    To be honest it is ridiculous that we haven't yet signed anyone. We have sold our best player and got a huge fee and so have money in the bank.

    If we end up selling more players, we are going to be in a much worse state than last year which was a poor Premier League campaign.

    Get someone in even if we have to pay over the odds!

    As an alternative viewpoint to some comments, I like to think that a potential 'partial replacement' for Declan was identified early and brought in 12 months prior to his departure, giving them a full season around the first team to settle in. Obviously Rice was never going to be replaced like for like for sensible money but I have been fairly impressed with Flynn Downes and would be happy with him as a regular starter.

    I'm not convinced he'll be good enough in the PL tbh, but he wasn't given much of a chance as a genuine DM in the PL last season, so we really don't know. If our PL season hadn't been such a struggle then maybe we could have seen more of what he has to offer, but despite "comfortably" avoiding relegation 😂🤣😂 there wasn't really much of a chance not to field our perceived strongest 11 in the league at all times.

    Downes should have been played more last season. But if he couldnt get ahead of Soucek last season, then moyes cant think much of him.

    I think this is the issue. I honestly think if Moyes believed he was a genuine option to replace Rice, he'd have used him a lot more last season.

    I wonder if this is what we're waiting for; clubs like Chelsea deciding who won't make their squad.

    Chelsea fans seem to think Sterling, Gallagher and Cucurella might be at risk. I can see Moyes being interested in all three, to be honest.
