Regarding short term / long term signings and long term projects. Nobody gets time these days do they? Certainly not managers or “ directors of football “🤷🏻♂️ I would imagine that most signings are bought to win games that season.
Absolutely re the signings 👍🏻 But I just don’t trust that Moyes can get the best out of them when he is inflexible with his tactics.
Is he all that? I mean Juve moved him out on loan after 6 months and 11 appearances and Chelsea had him for a season and he made 7 appearances. It looks like he will be moved on this summer but the stats don't make him look like a stand out buy.
Total nonsense. Why would we loan out a striker and then sell next year for half the money he was bought for? How hard has it been this window to sign anybody. Complete rubbish.
Does anyone believe this is going to happen with the figures quoted?
Writer has a broadcast journalism degree, apparently.
Probably explains why he can't distinguish between routing and rooting.
That West Ham blog thingy (not gonna call it journalism) seems just to be reporting what's been printed in an Italian website (but again, it looks like a fanblog thing, not a reputable source - although happy to be corrected, as Italian isn't my strong suit).
I put the Italian text into google translate. Key elements:
The obligation to buy would be conditional on the occurrence of certain sporting situations (appearances, goals and Roma's entry into the Champions League).
Also, offer not yet formally submitted 'cos they've got to sell a couple of other players first.

He's a good player but a bit injury prone. We certainly won't get week in week out minutes from him like we did with Rice.

I can't believe Sully would state how crazy the fees are this window only to decide give a 50% discount on a striker with huge potential and one supposedly wanted by more than one club!

I think what appeals about him is that he seems a solid player at a reasonable price, compared to the others. A few of us would have at least seen him play for Switzerland as well. There's definitely not really anything that sticks out about him.

He had 146 appearances for Borussia Monchengladbach before Juventus signed him
Juventus only played 25 matches while he was there, he was injured for 7 matches and made 15 appearances with 10 starts in the 18 he was available
As for Chelsea last season with three different managers and so many players available its hardly a surprise that a loan player didn't get much playing time

It appears that AS Monaco is now in a favourable position to secure the signing of Denis Zakaria from Juventus. Negotiations between Juventus and West Ham for the Swiss midfielder did not result in an agreement, prompting Juventus to consider other options for his departure. Zakaria’s loan spell at Chelsea last season did not go as planned, leading Juventus to believe that he is no longer a part of their future plans. Consequently, the club is actively working on finding a new destination for him to allow the team to move forward with their preferred players. Zakaria himself is keen on leaving Juventus and exploring new opportunities. While his move to the Premier League with West Ham fell through, a potential transfer to Ligue 1 now seems more likely. According to reports from Football Italia, Zakaria’s former manager at Borussia Monchengladbach, Adi Hütter, who is now with AS Monaco, is interested in bringing him to the French club. It is reported that AS Monaco has made their first approach to Juventus to initiate the deal, and it is expected that negotiations will progress in the coming days. This indicates that Zakaria’s future may soon be resolved with a move to Ligue 1.
Seeing as there's hardly anything West Ham to discuss on this thread, I've just read that Levy as gone full Sullivan and is seemingly prepared to take a near-£30m hit on a player. He signed Davinson Sanchez for £42m and has accepted a £13m offer from Spartak Moscow for him. Ouch.

I'm actually getting the hump about the silence now. I find it incredible 😂

You're not alone mate. And to pre-empt the 'judge the window once it's closed' argument, I know there's still time, but to be this unprepared - in terms of the obvious replacements needed and overall strengthening of the squad - this close to the start of the season is just seems mad to me.

West Ham ‘moving concretely’ for signing - Sports Witness.

He was completely ignored by Tuchel then left on the bench by Potter
After the World Cup he got 4 starts in 5 games before he suffered a hamstring injury.
Missed four games and returned to the bench but was left out of the matchday squad for the last seven games
