It’s ok we only just survived the drop last season ( forget the Conference success as that’s nothing to do with it) and we’ve lost our captain and best player by a mile, but all is ok …….🤷♂️
Seeing as there's hardly anything West Ham to discuss on this thread, I've just read that Levy as gone full Sullivan and is seemingly prepared to take a near-£30m hit on a player. He signed Davinson Sanchez for £42m and has accepted a £13m offer from Spartak Moscow for him. Ouch.
And how are they doing business with a Russian club?

From the BBC:
"The Premier League cannot stop clubs from dealing with any Russian sides, but it is understood they would strongly discourage clubs from making deals with clubs from the country amid the ongoing invasion of Ukraine.
Any club which does business with a Russian side must be satisfied that the club and its source of funding was not subject to any sanctions. Accepting money from any sanctioned individual is illegal."

So did Scott sign for Wolves? I know nothing about the guy but if he's as good as some think would he not just be worth a punt at the reported £20/25m?

Not yet. Wolves are having trouble balancing their books, apparently, so any deal is on hold.
So he's still available, but I don't think we've been linked by any of the more reputable ITKs.
I'd take him, based on what I've seen of him, because I genuinely don't think he'd lose any value, even at £25m. He's got a very high ceiling.
I just feel like this season's £25m is last season £10-15m. Didn't we buy Downes for about £10m and he wasn't a particularly sought after player if I remember correctly. Sounds crazy but it feels like spending £20m on someone is fine even for a squad player but he obviously sounds like he has potential to do more.
I know its an easy knock but really, Spurs trying to do business with a Russian side. Theyve already sneaked Solomon on a free after he was allowed to leqave Shakhtar because of the fighting. Not that we need any more reasons to look negatively at Spurs.
Before it was addressed above, I was going to ask who the hell would want to tranfer to Russia to play!
West Ham could miss out on signing 23-year-old England midfielder Conor Gallagher, who wants to stay at Chelsea and fight for his place in the team under new boss Mauricio Pochettino. (Mail)
Meanwhile, the Hammers are continuing talks with Southampton and England midfielder James Ward-Prowse, 28, with a deal now believed to be possible. (Football Insider)

This is one for all those who complain how long it takes West Ham to do a deal when every other club gets it sorted in a few days.
Maybe it’s a “W” thing 😉 But in all reality it’s pretty clear that Wolves have somewhat of a financial issue with FFP, we just seem to choose players in general that are either not really available for sale or available at the price we are prepared to pay… Still the only club not to sign a new player, that after selling a player over £100 million ( regardless how its being paid)… oh well, we have a couple of weeks to go to the start of the season so plenty of time to get the new players in who will be well in tune with his new team mates 😩 just like Moyes’ mistake last season…
So far they have signed two players who were there on loan last season, signed a back up keeper from Northampton Town and resigned Matt Doherty (sold to Spurs 2020) on a free from Atletico Madrid
On the other hand Ruben Neves, Nathan Collins, Joao Moutinho, Adama Traore and fans' favourite Raul Jimenez have gone
We bought a large contingent od overseas players last season so maybe that is why Moyes is allegedly looking at home grown players this season. If we buy home grown players then they won't take much settling in. They would know how we play, same as newbies in an international squad. Overseas buys are different as they may have language problems, settling into a new country issues etc. and not be so versed in the ways of West Ham. I'm against buy them young to sell them on as we will get nowhere and just endorse the 'feeder club' reputation that we already have. I want to see us do well now, as do most fans, so buying established players is one way to achieve that. Not saying we don't buy a youngster or two, plus we have some promising Academy boys right now.
‘Any club which does business with a Russian side must be satisfied that the club and its source of funding was not subject to any sanctions. Accepting money from any sanctioned individual is illegal’. What could possibly go wrong. Heh heh.

And the only team to have sold their captain and best player.
So, you know:

What could possibly go wrong. Heh heh.
He is no longer following Carlos Borges.
Could mean something. Could mean nothing.
Speculation, innit.
