  • There's no way the club will sell Cresswell IMO. He's one of the senior players, and has captained the team, and having lost Noble and Rice I don't think Moyes will want to lose any more of his trusted squad, particularly for £2.5m.

It's an obvious area to upgrade, and if it's not done this summer then it will surely have to be done next summer. If we could get them close to £5m (still not a huge amount of money in today's game) it would pose a very serious question imo.
  • Rumour of us being linked with Ian Maatsen from Chelsea, who looked great for Burnley at LB last season.

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for upgrading Cresswell. I'd just be massively surprised if Moyes agrees to letting him go.

I watched a bit of Burnley last season because Kompany had them playing some really good football. Maatsen did impress me so I'd be more than happy to have him and West Ham but I just kind of assumed that if he were leave Chelsea, it would be back to Burnley.
  • Could be worse. Man U have re-signed Johnny Evans.

I read that Burnley did go in with an offer but haven't met Chelsea's valuation.

  • Rumours are we have some french guy lined up to replace Cresswell.
Personally I'd be gutted to see him go.
  • Does French guy have a name?
  • Does French guy have a name?

Hasn't been named by the ITK (conveniently?), but some have speculated it could be Truffert, who played alongside Aguerd at Rennes and has been linked with a move away.

Seems to contradict other reports that we're in for Maatsen, who is Dutch and plays for Chelsea.
  • Barnes edging closer to Newcastle it seems. Pretty gutted about missing out on him if we were even in for him.

    Pierre Baguette
  • Oh I heard it was Jean le Frites 🤷‍♂️

The guy that Herbie referenced earlier in the thread (FarehamHammer) has claimed that everything is/was in place for us to sign Barnes but Sullivan has yet to sign off on the deal.

No idea how reliable he is as an ITK, and is very anti-Sullivan so could just be nonsense.

*Edit: re-read it and it's stated opinion rather than anything he 'knows'.
  • I wasn't hoping it was going to left footed wizard Shep Le Bon Bon.
  • Sweet left foot I heard..
  • Think he's signing for the toffees
  • Been heavily reported that Cresswell is talking to Wolves
  • Lets hope he keeps his distance ,They can bite
  • Been heavily reported that Cresswell is talking to Wolves

    Wasn't that a film? 🤔
  • Running with wolves ,or running away from wolves ,or making out with wolves ,Something like that =)
  • I've heard Cresswell is a bit of a dancer.
  • Mahrez latest player to go to the Saudi league. £30m.

    I'm quite surprised, tbh.
  • So it looks as if he might be doing a last tango in Wolverhampton then?
  • Ah! Dancing with Wolves.

Fee now agreed with Leicester, according to multiple sources.

I thought he'd fit us really well. Almost the epitome of a Moyes player.

But hey, I'm sure our lot know what they're doing.
  • Real Betis are interested in West Ham's Spain midfielder Pablo Fornals, 27, as well as Tottenham's Argentina midfielder Giovani lo Celso, 27. (Relevo - in Spanish)
  • Been heavily reported that Cresswell is talking to Wolves

  • If Wolves take Cresswell cant we part ex with Ait Nouri or even Jonny Otto. Also Castagne is romoured to be wanted by Fulham and someone else. He can play on either side of the pitch and IMO is a pretty solid WB
  • From Football fancast - 'According to transfer insider ExWHUEmployee, via Patreon, Conor Gallagher, Scott McTominay, Amadou Onana and Youssouf Fofana are the four men David Moyes has been running the rule over'. Why are we running the rule over at this time of the year? surely all the work identifying targets and getting the data together is done prior to the transfer window. This is the business part of the season and we always seem so ill prepared. I can just see the first few results being poor and Moyse saying we did not get the players in soon enough, they did not have a full season etc
I live in hope that we will get a few decent players over the line
