Wouldn’t mind Billing. A real goal threat last season. If it was my money I’d probably go for JWP and Alex Scott (yes, @Slacker, I’ve seen him play) and a proper DM, but I wouldn’t be anti-Billing at all.
An amazing window based on players we’ve been linked with would be:
Alex Scott £25m Borges £14m Adrien Truffert £16m Harwood-Bellis £17m (or Luiz Felipe £14.5m) Billing £13m André from Fluminense £28m
If we sell Antonio then I’d love Elye Wahi but it’ll be hard to get him as Chelsea and Arsenal are interested and we’d probably not have the budget if we signed the above. We’ve not been linked with him but a cheaper option could be Gift Orban who played against us in the confederations league for Gent last season
Despite having premier league experience, I’m not interested in many of the PL/ex PL players we’ve been interested in - Ward-Prowse, Kalvin Philips, Connor Gallagher, Mctominay, Max Aaron’s, or Harry Maguire.
This quote has been attributed to Sullivan, re new signings:
“Only the boy from Man City, otherwise it is very hard work and the fees crazy. We offered £50m for the Fulham player Palhina which was rejected and we won’t be going any higher.”
The "crazy fees" must have been anticipated as soon as the world knew Rice was for sale. Particularly given how hard Sullivan rode Arsenal for the £105m.
Seems a bit naive to think that we can play hard ball for Rice to then be surprised that Fulham do the same for Palhinha.
Fees have always been “crazy” IMO, Villa have just splashed the cash, it happens, there are deals to be done, just gotta be smart and identify available and affordable targets, hope that is what this new person was bought in for …but we as usual IMO we are leaving things a bit late , especially for the midfield area, nothing new there…Oh well…still a few weeks before our 1st game…

Burnley are killing it with the announcements
Love the 99.
I only mention it because we bid £10m for him late in the January window, but now presumably aren't interested.
So I assume we're either after a better RB/RWB, or we no longer want someone in that role, because he represents a better deal now than he did then.
