Three of these are already injured, and the two new signings we have made are obviously untested at PL level. You can argue that we have the U23s to fall back on, but if Moyes’s squad on Tuesday is anything to go by, it doesn't look like many feature highly in his plans (Mubama is only being kept around because he's literally the only other striker at the club).
With nothing reported as close in terms of new recruits, there's a strong possibility that we'll have to see out seven games in August with the above, which is far from ideal. Hopefully we don't see any more injuries in the last two pre-season games because we really can't afford any.
I’m sorry. I don’t judge players based on their want to earn money, but what a cowardly move by Lingard & his team. It’s one thing to sign for Forest, another to sign for loads of cash, but at least commit to the club. 12 month deal. Laughable.

Yes, really the worst part of it. Not even a relegation clause.
And in a year someone else has to add another 10m to his annual wages for a supposed signing on fee.
I wanted him to come here but after all this business I am glad he's gone somewhere else. Going to Forest is pathetic and 100% about the money. Buh Bye
Quoted on bbc: West Ham would prefer to sign Blackburn and Chile striker Ben Brereton Diaz, 23, than Burnley's Dwight McNeil, although Crystal Palace could move for the English winger, 22. (Mail)
Bordeaux and South Korea striker Hwang Ui-jo, 29, claims he has an offer to join West Ham this summer (Sun)
If true, for the sake of 8M, you've got to question if we really want him? In todays terms thats peanuts (if true of course)
Imagine how much that would cost if we approached every transfer like that
If its for quality striker, central box to boxer and a left back I'd spend the extra 3 x 8M. A question of priorities and not automatically applying to every transfer
In the last window it was reported we didn't pay the little extra needed for Nunez & look where he ended up at at what cost. It shouldn't be a general rule when trying to conclude deals but we should give some consideration to doing it if it means we get our top signings.

Tbf so would but its not that easy
Imagine we did that last summer, spent more on Zouma/Vlasic and/or just bought Kral outright (we had to negotiate the loan as they wanted a permanent switch at the start).....Then we'd have £25mil less for this summer, money that is gonna be spent on a LB
I would pay it, depending on the player...but think its naive when it's suggested to just pay what the club wants....if it was that easy, there wouldn't be any transfer news/sagas there would be just transfers...quick and easy

I don't believe Sullivan wants him, because of the cost, and I don't think Moyes wants him, because he's not Broja.
I can believe Newman is aware of him and has made the recommendation, but this deal won't go anywhere. After being burnt by Haller, there's no way we're spending anywhere near £42m on a player with zero English league experience, IMO.
If it's not Broja, it'll be Brereton-Diaz or Dennis for significantly less.
Raum was never a serious option, for similar reasons. Same goes for Sosa. If we get a new left back, it'll be someone like Charlie Taylor or, at a push, Luke Shaw on loan.

Hey ho, the world’s still turning.😀

That’s quite the range these papers are reporting…
