Apparently it’s being reported that we will be signing Scamacca imminently
I’ve been assured that “this deal is going nowhere’ though.
Yes. You’ve made it very clear that you think that someone expressing their view that a transfer is unlikely is a cardinal sin.
Not really, maybe just highlighting that saying that something is a fact when it’s really, really not.👍
Yes, we understand your view. You’ve posted it several times today, and dozens of times over the past few weeks.
Which he is fully entitled to do, apparently.
Yep. Everyone’s entitled to post their opinions. What I personally don’t enjoy is a mocking tone in posts, particularly when it is going after one or two other forum members. Every month or so people talk about this forum being better than others because people listen to others opinions, but the tone of mocking in some posts doesn’t fit that description for me.
So calling someone out for making statements that are plainly not true is not on? Even in a light hearted way? I’ve not “ mocked” anyone on here, all I’ve done is try to add a bit of realism to the somewhat feverish over reaction involved in the transfer thread. My sense of humour maybe different to yours but it is not malicious. Blimey it’s a football forum with grown up members.
Two targets missed today, Jesse and Springsteen tickets. Hey ho, the world’s still turning.😀
At least I've got a Springsteen ticket 😊
Well done Buffy. I must admit that I’m not too disappointed this time round. When he played Sunderland a few years ago the sound and atmosphere was pretty poor so I’m kind of off the football stadium gigs.I might have been spoiled by Leeds Arena on the next tour which was brilliant and was very much like the Springsteen gigs of legend. Hope you enjoy it mate👍
I saw the Rolling Stones at Hyde Park a few weeks ago (as well as there in 2013) with 4 friends, the 5 of us plus 1 more have tickets for Bruce thanks to one of them being able to buy tickets the day before they went on general release 😊. The BST Hyde Park gigs I've been to have been great (both sound and atmosphere), so nice to have something (other than the 2023 summer transfer window 😂🤣😂) to look forward to.

Alderz, why not just ignore it (Slacker's view) if it's irritating you (I'm assuming the "we" is purely rhetorical). Personally, I find his posts on the matter amusing - each to his own of course.
Haller has shown his strengths plus capacity to score (before and after playing for us). We cant be too one dimensional and try to play on the counter with pace all the time. That'll only work against certain teams. When we're facing a lower block then we need different options and a good target man could be one of them. I'm just happy we're actually close to signing someone claiming to be a striker!
Via Twitter... Sounds like this guy has a passionate family
May 18, 2021: Gianluca Scamacca’s father arrested after breaking into Roma’s training ground and destroying club executives’ cars with an iron bar.
November 18; 2021: Scamacca’s 66-year-old grandfather after entering a bar in Roma and threatening customers with a knife. (presuming they missed the word 'arrested' out of this sentence)
But on the good news front, he's the most exciting striker in Europe behind Haaland and Nunez. I am more than happy to delude myself and believe this until I see him play
Spanish website fichajes.net claimed we offered Belotti a 3 year contract in April
Torino tried their best to get him to sign an extension, he'd been there seven seasons and was club captain but missed a lot of last season through injury, just 23 appearances
Various sources reckon he'd turned down Newcastle a few weeks ago as he wants to join a bigger Serie A club (AC Milan fan as a kid)

…..perhaps one of them could be an option at left back?

Also think there has been a conscious effort to be a bit more of a ball playing possession based team
It's only minor, but you can see a positive increase last season in our possession stats (via whoscored) 21/22: 47.4% 20/19: 44.5% 19/20: 45.4% *you'd assume this was less under moyes than Pelegrini
Then you see how we've procured a ball playing CB in Aguerd and a ball playing midfielder in Downes, both from possession based teams (Rennes 56% and Swansea 64% average throughout the season) I think you can see an adjustment in the way we're playing or looking to play
Sassuolo had 55% possession last year, so we are likely going to be moving away from counter attacking football, giving us a bit more control....so hoping pace is less important as when we had Haller we were always looking to counter and it didn't suit him at all
I like the Scamacca and Kostic links, but I think we need more.
Coventry and Lanzini on for Rice and Bowen is too big a downgrade, and we had two full backs at centre back this afternoon and ended up with a right back at left wingback.
The problem persists; we have a good first XI but not enough behind it, IMO.

Probably dip into the loan market if we can't secure our primary targets......see players like Oxlade-Chamberlain, Barkley, Loftus-Cheek etc.
If the Kostic and scammaca deals go through that'll be around £100mil spent
Can't see the club buying a CB when we have 5senior ones at the club, just u lucky they're all injured right now
We need a left back and a striker minimum, Kostic would offer an alternative to Benrahma, i still think Vlasic through the middle can still work. Be good to get in a CM or a Loan for another CM and perhaps a loan for another player on the right to back up Bowen.
from seeing those 16 goals last season, he looks tasty and in todays market a snip at the price. Hopefully we wont sell him for 20M less than we paid for him

I thought all 3 of the players mentioned were good in their prime and perhaps can be again with a new challenge ( providing we keep Ox off the treatment table)

Sassuolo also play 4-2-3-1 so unlike Haller he will be used to playing as a lone striker
