Wouldn't surprise me as it happens, get a deal done for loan with option, and the fee comes from next years budget, and we have a whole year to beat the chavs into submission.
In an ideal world, we would bring them both in. Even if Broja is a loan. Antonio would be a great option in the wing again, and considering we aren’t really linked with anyone to replace Yarmo and back up Bowen, I can believe that Antonio will become that back up and two strikers come in.
Also, the Kostic move - if it happens - feels like one that will allow a great deal of flexibility in the side. He’s a winger and left wing back, which is basically what we tried to pretend Fornals was at times last season.
Doesn’t that make you an optimist. We usually make a massive loss
You say usually but Haller and Anderson are the only two in recent tears as far as I can recall. We also sold Diangana for £18m (?) and bought Dawson for £2m, so there were a couple of plusses in that time period too.

If we get Scamacca I'd take Dennis for c.£20m as a second striker.
So that's: - Scamacca Onana or Kamada Kostic Broja or Dennis LB
I had reservations about Scamacca, especially as a friend who's a massive Roma and Serie A fan said he's like Haller, but I do think there are some subtle differences. There are no examples in his highlights of him really running with the ball but he does seem to have a burst of acceleration to get away from someone that Haller didn't have.
Otherwise, he seems to be quite strong when he holds up and releases straight away. To be fair, Haller might've been better at this if we got people closer to him more often but also, we might do that more now than we did previously. I do wonder if Haller stayed 6 months longer whether he would've actually suited us more. Last season, we had more of the ball and maybe he would've fit that more than the way we played when he was sold. So maybe Scamacca being a bit like Haller doesn't mean he won't fit how we play now.
I really, really, really wish that people online would stop mocking up players in the kits of their rumours suitors. I googled Kostic this morning to see what I could learn about him, and I saw about 3 YouTube videos of "Welcome to West Ham...?" with Kostic in a West Ham shirt. I've seen pictures galore of Lisandro Martinez in Arsenal kits, I've seen Raphinha in a Chelsea shirt, I've seen Mbappe and Haaland in Real Madrid kits. It's ridiculous! Not only does it make people look stupid when those transfers fall through, but it also means I literally can't trust anything. Even like 2/3 years ago if I saw a photo of a player in a West Ham shirt I knew they'd joined up. These days it means nothing.
West Ham United have made their first formal offer for Piotr Zielinski, claim Sportitalia, but are still a long way off the Napoli asking price. According to transfer expert Alfredo Pedullà, the Premier League side have proposed €25m plus add-ons for the Poland international. However, there is a very large gap from the demand, which is a minimum of €35m plus performance-related bonuses to reach circa €40m.
The Italian journalist that said yesterday that Scamacca was due to arrive in London at 9am this morning for his medical, is now saying he's still in Italy.
Considering this is likely to be our key signing, and at £30m+, you would have thought we'd be doing all we can do get this one over the line. A bid was supposedly accepted on Friday but 72 hours later and we're seemingly no closer to actually signing him.
I honestly think we're holding out for Broja here.
From the BBC; Newcastle United and Everton are stepping up their pursuit of Chelsea and Albania striker Armando Broja after West Ham dropped their interest in the 20-year-old. (i Sport)
Meanwhile, the Hammers are weighing up a move for Blackburn and Chile striker Ben Brereton Diaz, 23. (Sun)
What's the difference between an Italian journalist and my mate down the pub? Quite often read "don't believe it because it's in The Sum / Mail" etc.etc. so what makes this guy special? I would also believe he will fly over on a charter flight so quoting a 9am flight makes little sense to me.

Who said he's special? He works for an Italian sports website so may have more contacts than your mate down the pub.
I'm just sharing speculation on a speculation thread.
I do think people underestimate how quickly deals can realistically get done. This guy is moving from Italy to England, whilst negotiating a contract. It’s not something that will be done in hours. Fee was agreed on Saturday, nothing ever happens Sunday. My guess is he’ll be in the country by tomorrow & sign by Wednesday.
Romano says that we are negotiating with Scamacca, Kostic & Onana. We are sorting ‘tax details’ with Scamacca but he is the priority deal, Kostic talks are at an early stage & Onana will be pursued more intensely when Scamacca is complete.

Negotiating with Onana, or with Lille, I wonder? If it's with the player, one assumes a price has been agreed with his club, in principle at least.
I think given how long it's been that we've needed a striker, I'm just keen to see the deal over the line. Just feels like every step has been made public and I'm nervous that it's allowing time for others to gazump us.

For me, there is a distinct difference from being nervous (as I'm sure we all are) while we wait for deals to get completed and insinuating that the club are working slowly and aren't making any progress
Transfers take time, and teams get gazumped all the time....Barca have been doing it to Chelsea all window, we did it for Downes/Crystal Palace and got done against us with Lingard/Forest)
I think it’s just the speed at which some transfers are done. Chelsea agreed a deal for Koulibaly, he was on the next flight and within 12 hours was properly announced on their tour in the US. But of course every transfer is different.

Sure the club are doing all they can right now
If they actually want Scamacca, then yes, they probably are.
And it would appear that they do, but like others, I thought the interest was just to put pressure on Chelsea to release Broja (as appeared to happen last summer with the Milenkovic/Zouma pursuits). If they don't actually want to commit to signing him, then I can see the benefit of dragging things out in the hope that something goes wrong (either we're gazumped or a reason is found to not complete the deal).
Rumours seem to be a medical tomorrow and him being announced no later than Wednesday, so hopefully we'll know soon enough.
So you're speculating that we aren't doing all we can to sign him then?
Yes. Obviously. Hence why I put "you'd have thought", "supposedly" and "seemingly".
Does literally everything on here have to be quantified that it's an opinion and not a fact?
Not at all but as a West Ham fan I find it difficult to understand other fans who like to knock the club without all the facts, apart from a line from an Italian journalist who then changes his mind once his initial claim doesn't occur.
IronHerb, Why does he have to come on a charter flight? If we want to speed the deal up we fly him over on a private plane.

Also, we are deffo not alone in this....You see bids getting accepted for other teams and then they don't sign for a week, its not THAT unusual
