Nottingham Forest have offered free agent Jesse Lingard a contract worth £200,000 a week as they look to beat West Ham to the signature of the 29-year-old England attacker. (Mail).......
I know, the Mail! I don't care if he is free
No way is he worth anywhere near that IMO.

    Weren't we offering £150k?
  • I'd be pretty underwhelmed by that signing but I admit I haven't seen a ton of him.

Bloke down the pub reckons we offered £ 300 k.

  • I rate McNeill and I think in our side he'd definitely get more assists and be a threat on the opposite side to Bowen
  • Twitter linking us with a 10M Oxlade Chamberpot move. Seems broken too much for me but a decent player on his day
  • No to another sick note Oxlade

  • What I like about McNeil is he's already got 134 Premier League appearances (126 starts) under his belt before he's 23yo. Admittedly those were for Burnley but that's impressive for someone so young and there's potential for improvement

He holds the record for youngest Burnley player to score in the Prem

    19 years 38 days

30 December 2018, Turf Moor, 2-0 West Ham
  • I like McNeil, and I was listening to a podcast the other day that was discussing whether his future would be as a left back. He’s done a lot of defensive work the last few years, has a great engine, and a great left foot.
  • Sounds like a perfect replacement for Cresswell.

Nah Herb, he was right, knowing Sulli that was the annual payment =)

Moyes does like an attacking midfielder who tracks back

Mmm, not to sure about that. He’s got a lot of contacts in the old clothes game and his mum once looked after Lingard’s nan’s cat when she went to Skegness for a week., so he’s at least as reliable as some of the other ITKs.

  • Lingard has every right to take his time'
Former West Ham striker Dean Ashton:
"I thought Jesse Lingard's move to West Ham would have happened quite quickly and I'm surprised it has gone on as long as it has.
"He did incredibly well when he came in on loan and I thought he would see this as another great opportunity to play at a club that would clearly love to have him; he gets on well with the players, he knows what the manager wants and I'm sure the contract West Ham would be putting on the table would be pretty darn good.
"He'd be playing European football in a side hopefully challenging for Champions League football again and so I thought it would just happen.
"I don't know whether it's his wage demands or West Ham maybe not giving him the reassurances he wants. But Nottingham Forest have really surprised me that they have nipped in and look like they could take him to the City Ground.
"He has every right to take his time. This is a big contract for him at the age he is at and it is down to the football clubs to persuade him to come to their club."
  • West Ham negotiating Lozano deal with Napoli – report
    by Football Italia24 minutes ago
Napoli are willing to sell Hirving Lozano this summer and they’ve held concrete talks with West Ham recently.
The Premier League side are looking to strengthen their attack this summer in order to continue their development under David Moyes. A number of targets have been linked with West Ham, like Chelsea’s Armando Broja and Sassuolo’s Gianluca Scamacca. Despite all the noise, however, no forward has arrived yet.
As reported by TMW, Lozano could be sold by Napoli this summer and they’ve held talks with a number of clubs, with West Ham’s interest being the most serious.
The major obstacle for the Hammers, however, is the Mexican’s high wages; the former PSV man earns around €5m net per season plus add-ons, and a deal with Napoli would cost at least €20m, making the operation fairly expensive.
With West Ham desperate to sign a new forward, updates are expected in the coming weeks.
Last season, the 26-year-old Lozano scored five goals and provided six assists in 30 Serie A appearances.

5m per year is approx 96k a week, which in £ is about 86k pw
  • Note -

    €5m net per season

  • He scored 5 goals last season and earned 5 million net? No thanks.
  • Beast on football manager tho 🤓
  • From the BBC ....Talk about USELESS reporting , I mean it states "they are CLOSE to signing him", although, "nothing has been agreed"!!!....Even tho it looks like he will go there ( pity ) IMO...

Former Manchester United attacking midfielder Jesse Lingard is close to signing for Nottingham Forest on a free transfer.

The 29-year-old, who has 32 England caps, has been in talks with the newly promoted side but it is understood nothing has yet been agreed.
  • Ex saying forest giving Jesse £50k more ever week, he'd take less but still lwants more from us....and we're refusing to budge (good on us imo)

Jesse is apparently frustrated and wants to join us over Forest, but seems with neither party willing to blink first Forest will get him a sit stands

Broja is the same, we maybe forced to wait all summer if we want Chelsea to budge their stance because it looks like we're going to move onto other targets as they want to keep him (although Broja is happy to move)

Scammaca was on ice, and ready to explore other options but appears as though we may try again

Onana bid rejected, Lille want a LOT more apparently...(me speaking) seems this one will be dead soon

Frustration in the camp, they are going to decide whether to go for other options or persevere with our primary options

    No news on a LB
  • And around and around we go.
  • The Jacob fella seems to think Lingard has had his medical at Forest. Can't wait for this to be done tbh.

    Great news
  • Is Andy Caroll still available? :)

Maybe jack wilshire could be persuaded to come out of retirement?
  • So we enter our penultimate pre-season game with basically the same problems that we ended last season with.

Hopefully Moyes can a performance from the team because Tuesday really wasn't good.

With nothing close, it sounds like he'll have to integrate any new signings once the season's underway.
  • I can easily see us not signing anyone of significance but a couple of panic last minute stuff.
  • Yep people say don't panic but all the creditable ITK's suggest that nothing is moving at all. Seems like we are getting a bit desperate. I think Dennis would be a good shout and would like it if we tried to get him in if they haven't already.
