Realistically who is going to share that information with so called ITKs?
Lots of people. Agents, himself, people within the club. There are various reasons but they all know that this plays out in public and by getting a version of the story across you can achieve various goals - to look like you're active, to put the pressure on the other party to speed up or to make sure they are blamed if something falls through.
Obviously there are people who share some of these things, otherwise we wouldn't know about any transfers until they were announced or if the club actually made press statements saying they want this or that player.
Or in this case to make it look like you’re in it just for the money and don’t care where you play?

Yeah, great PR that.
Well it might not be him, but if it's from him, then maybe the view is that he knows many wanted him to come and he's setting out that he wants to come but the responsibility is with the club. On the other side, it could be the club leaking it so that it can be blamed on his greed.
I don't know the reason any of it was leaked to Ex, if it was, but to say there's no reason for anyone to leak is wrong, in my opinion.
My take is still that nobody really knows but some folks thrive on generating rumours to make themselves look like they’re in the know, and some folks lap it up.

Some definitely do thrive on that. And that’s why there are only really a couple that are trusted but the majority of people. Ex and Romano have a track record of being mostly correct, so they don’t fall into the ‘chancer’ category for many.
Jesse Lingard is allegedly about to make a decision on his future. An insider said “It’s not true that he has taken too long to decide on his next contract. At this stage of his career he wanted to explore every option worldwide. Only a couple of parties remain convinced he can recreate his form from 18 months ago (when he last played). It’s not about the money for Jesse, more about the football and being near home.” Interested parties include West Ham, a rich pub team in China, and a Saudi-backed sports shop in the Middle East.
Well, at least wherever he goes he won't have to worry about the price of fuel or bread.
If billionaire Rishi can say “we’re all feeling the pinch” then maybe Jesse does need £180kpw
"The Sunday Times Rich List values Mr Sunak and Ms Murty’s fortune at £730m"
Him and his missus are just a bit short of a billion, so maybe they are feeling the pinch, and I can understand JL's point, while I make do on my state pension.
Its pretty obvious Moyes values him and I would imagine he's expressed this to Jesse on more than one occasion. He also gets on well with the squad
If he wants him and Jesse leans toward us then I guess it'll be a case of whether the money men value him enough to make that happen.
Its irritating that this has taken forever but I m not known for my patience (that goes for Broja and Onana too). There's always a whiff that we're always trying to cut financial corners or offer less to show we tried. Whether true or not it always seems to float around the owners
Today's round up seems to have Lingard now less likely to join, Tuchel saying he doesn't expect Broja to leave and radio silence from Lille around Onana.
What's that saying? Some people know the price of everything but the value of nothing?
Yes that was my first reading of it. A Saudi club can pay the wage but won’t value him as a player as much as Moyes. But then it could easily be what OCS thought, that he thinks value is paying what he asked for.

Aimed at us not meeting his 'value'?

The doubt was that it came after reports of him threatening to sign for someone else if we didn't pay him £180k p/w.
Looks like we'll find out over the next couple of days.
Maybe his pilot got lost...
