Alese leaving isn’t a massive surprise. It is not always a case of the club deciding to sell a talented prospect or him not being deemed good enough. Sometimes it can be we want to keep him, he could be good enough, but he’s had a offer to go & play for a decent Championship club & wants to take that chance.
1, I didn’t realise how little he’s played. I assumed he was a real star of his side, but he made 11 starts and 21 sub appearances in the league this year. The valuation seems very high to me.
2, Transfermarkt has a ‘rumour rater’ which rates the likelihood of a transfer and Onana to West Ham is now up to 70%

Plus 2 starts the Coupe, 2 starts and 6 subs in the Champions League.

The kid is only 20, will be 21 in 31 days
I’m not sure 4 extra starts or his age do a lot to justify the price tag
I reckon it’s all to do with him being a raw talent that can only get better. Lille don’t have to sell & Mr Klopp likes him so he must be a decent prospect. 😉
I think if you are ever going to get a superstar at West ham we need to take a bit of a gamble as by the time they are realising their potential we can't compete with the bigger Champions League clubs.
This site is all about opinion and there are a few indicating Soucek wasn't as productive as he was in his first season. I don't argue that it's statistically correct, but I'd be disappointed if he left. He plays virtually every minute and gives 100%. He would be hard to replace IMO
Brentford striker Ivan Toney is attracting interest from Newcastle, West Ham and Leeds while Manchester United are also understood to be keeping tabs on the 26-year-old Englishman. (Sunday Mirror)
Roma coach Jose Mourinho is keen to complete the signing of 28-year-old Argentina striker Paulo Dybala, who is a free agent after leaving Juventus, or move on to a potential deal with England midfielder Jesse Lingard, with the 29-year-old also a free agent after leaving Manchester United.(Corriere dello Sport - in Italian)
KUMB ITK has said we've given Chelsea a two-week deadline to make a decision on Broja. If true, I assume that means we're either not close on Scamacca, or we're asking him/Sassuolo to hang around for two weeks second choice.
Slightly worrying that this is dragging on still. I've said before that I can't see Scamacca coming, so if Chelsea decide to keep Broja, who's next on the list? Could this be why the links to Toney have resurfaced?
I know there's been some excitement about the Broja/Scamacca/Onana/Lingard/Raum rumours over the last few days, but I think that's rather optimistic. I think we'll probably get Lingard before the week's out, but the ST/CM/LB reinforcements won't be resolved any time soon, and I don't think it'll be the above players.
Broja will end up coming on loan once Chelsea get another forward player. I think it’s a smart compromise given the money involved & Chelsea being unsure whether to sell.

With an option though, hopefully. Otherwise we'll be back to square one next summer.
I do wonder if they (and maybe us) have one eye on the Rice situation. If he does go next summer and Chelsea are interested, and assuming Broja does well, he could be used as a make-weight in any deal.
As reported by Corriere dello Sport, next week will be a decisive one for Scamacca as PSG have told Sassuolo to lower their €50m price tag on the player if they want to agree deal, or else they’ll focus on Benfica’s Goncalo Ramos instead. West Ham have been in contact with Scamacca’s entourage but they’re seemingly focusing on picking up Chelsea’s Armando Broja at this stage. They could return will full force if the French giants move away, however.
"Despite standing 5ft 9in, he won more aerial duels in the league than Harry Maguire last season and won the ball more times than any United defender."
I know it's only bookies but they have us as red hot favourites to sign Lingard, as low as odds of 1-2 with one company. The next shortest odds are 5-1. Bearing in mind he doesn't have to rely on a club to agree to sell him that may suggest they have taken bets from people who may well know his decision.

Maybe we can find another way to persuade him to stay...

Ex is saying we're also in negotiations with two international left-backs.
This could end up being a mad window.

They did if for Abraham, Livramento but didn't on Tomori and they probably feel like they are regretting that
Seems like a lot of bigger clubs are insisting in these clauses, City have done it a fair few times, and tbh it makes sense for them to do so

Knows he highly rated...but doesn't sound fit for the prem, and it's a LOT of money
Hardly a ringing endorsement. 😂
