  • we win last 3 they stay behind us and maybe catch the chavs
  • Yeah it’s simple, we need 7-9 points & that needs to be the focus
  • Totally agree. Win our own games, we have control over that. Brighton game is massive.
  • We only need 4 points to stay above Arsenal.
  • It's nice being a bit twitchy about what's happening at the top of the table rather than the bottom

Regardless of the Arsenal result we need to win all our games to make sure we get 5th or 6th or who knows even better.
  • That makes it a little interesting after last night! Shame Tuchel didn't play that team at the London Stadium the other week but I suppose we should take it as a compliment that he didn't. Hopefully OGS will have a proper team out tomorrow night to stop Liverpool.
  • A Villa and Man U win would be nice.
  • Wow.....

Seems like n oome wants to finish top 4...

Sometimes my heart bleeds as an ex serviceman of over 16 years, I’d have loved to go up to my commanding officer and say, I was on the frontline 48 hours ago is it ok to give this one a miss, and before joining up was doing rugby sat morning football Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning god it’s a hard life isn’t it 😂😂

So you reckon a Man U team that had played on Sunday and Tuesday would be at their best on Thursday against a Liverpool side that hadn't played since Saturday?

I suspect any top football manager in that situation would have done exactly the same as Solksjaer
  • If Villa and United win tonight them I'm dreaming of Champions League again, and there's nobody here that can stop me.

I agree they would do the same but not if they were chasing the title, your not telling me they’d have played the weaker team against Liverpool and the stronger one Leicester, but if they were a point behind leaders, weather players at best or not they’d have played trust me

Sorry but I don't believe anyone would play their best squad three times in five days even if they were a point behind the leaders and especially when the third match is against Liverpool.
  • But Leicester are better than Liverpool at the moment so surely they are the ones to put out a better team against, in the chasing the league scenario.
  • Ironherb, not unless you don’t want Liverpool to qualify for the CL. 😉
  • Oh I don't, but for the sake of argument...... 😂

We’d have to agree to disagree then because with a few games to go and with a chance of winning the league if I was manager I’d play them in both because the other option had no chance of a result, to many changes
  • FWIW, i think that if Ole had a chance of winning the league he’d have played a different team for the games still, but the rotation for the Leicester game wouldn’t have been so wholesale. He’d have had a few stars to try to win the game, and a few different stars against Liverpool
  • I do think the problem is Man Utd aren’t good enough at the moment to have a bench full of players who can slot seamlessly into the first team, without changing the way the team plays. Very few clubs achieve this. You can say that Man City have ££££s, but the job Pep has done when you don’t notice the changes is pretty unique. He’s picked the same eleven once this season and you hardly notice.

(Unique apart from Spurs, they are consistently poor whoever is picked!😀)

Leicester may be better at the moment but Liverpool will always be more important to Man U regardless of their position.

They were 'chasing the title' in that they needed Man City not to win ANY of their last 3 games out of Newastle, Brighton and Everton...City have lost 5 all season, they aren't losing their last 3

Ole had a choice, and given the chances of United winning the league were pretty much zero, he opted to prioritise knocking out their biggest rival
  • It might not make any difference - fans trying to stop the game.

If they succeed, wonder what that will mean for remaining matches...
  • I suspect security will be a lot tighter tonight than it was 11 days ago, reports say that a lot of the Man U fans have gone and there are now more police than supporters.

It seems the Man U players are all inside the stadium, there had two empty team buses as diversion while the players drove there in their own cars. Liverpool team bus has a hefty police escort but no one knows if the players are actually inside
  • Now reported that Liverpool are at Old Trafford, seems they took an unmarked coach while the official red Liverpool one was a decoy
  • I suspect the crafty swines took a 263 bus from the train station
  • Or the trams, the trams are fun
  • So it just goes to prove that Man U fans aren't the brightest. 😂
  • Grealish falling over as soon as he came on ,Just score a goal and beat Everton
