Because that’s a position we need sorting first can’t see it personally, think it’s obvious we need a striker first and foremost, then left back midfielder maybe another striker and then goalkeeper for me
I think next season is going to a potential problem for us if we finish this season with a whimper.
This down turn could carry into next season. I am pretty certain the owners will underwhelm when it comes to transfers, especially as they have an added reason to hide behind
We need to finish in some sort of European position and still be in Europe by the time the kids go back to school.
If that doesn’t happen, and the expected lack of squad strengthening happens things may well become toxic when the fans come back and we could struggle in the league.
Next season will be one of the most challenging for Moyes in his recent managerial career IMO.
Not for the first time, I would be utterly ashamed of our 'fans' if they returned next season and decided to turn toxic.
We've had one of our top PL seasons even if we lose the next two. Why don't these 'fans' take some responsibility in terms of creating a better feel around the club, rather than expecting owners and squad to provide it for them?
It's a two-way street.
If we want to build something like Leicester, maybe our fanbase need to contribute to patience and positivity rather than generating tension and ugliness.

Don't really understand why youre saying we're going to underwhelm in the summer and saying we're going to mess up our recruitment after the season we just had....
If the fans turn toxic if we don't buy tons of reinforcement then we're just setting ourselves to be disappointed because the reality is that ots not going to happen

Just isn't going to happen. Too much anger at the owners that trickles down to players performances and manager unfortunately.
I think the biggest thing will be if players are still getting down on one knee in support of BLM. There was a lot of whistling and boos at recent games that had attendances. Unfortunately there is a loud minority within West Ham that will for certain Boo when this is done if it is continued next season.

Wow. So the attending fans have been found guilty before any offence has been committed.
Would be very happy with Johnstone, seems like it could be a shrewd move...sadly Fab isn't the same keeper he was a few years ago, need someone new
Would prefer if we got rid of Randolph and Martin, keep Fab as 1nd choice and promote either Anang or Trott as 3rd choice, let Fab give some wisdom
Martin is out of contract at the end of the season
Randolph has another two seasons, he quit Boro where he was first choice keeper to be Fabs back up so I doubt if he's interested in a transfer unless he's reduced to third choice as he was with Joe Hart.
I'm actually happy with Fabs in goal, don't think he's noticeably worse than last season

If it doesn't happen it isn't because of an inevitability - it will be because certain people have decided to act that way, and create a toxic environment at a stadium and around a club which isn't theirs. It's all of ours.
Am I delighted with our owners? No. But do I feel I have the right to generate a toxic atmosphere around the club? Definitely not.
As for people booing when taking the knee, I don't know what this has to do with anything. If anybody is booing/jeering that then we will be a better club when they're banned.

I think it was pretty obvious the intention of my post concerned a hypothetical situation with so-called fans creating negativity to suit their own agendas. Not all fans in the stadium indiscriminately.
In fact, it's exactly the rest of the fanbase that I'm defending. Their right to enjoy being at the stadium again after the pandemic. Their right to feel pride in their club again after a great season, where players and manager have been fantastic.

This board is always going to have the potential to generate a toxic atmosphere in the ground. They've lied to us with respect to the OS, they've taken money out of the club, and, just as in the Payet season, they refused to invest in January when, with a very thin squad, we were on course for an exceptional season.
They're going to make 100s of millions of pounds when they sell up, so they should be prepared to suck up some losses (which would be smaller if they didn't charge us interest) in the meantime.
Anything achieved on the pitch is in spite of not because of our owners.
They were a hairs breath away from getting relegated and then immediately won the league. Where was patience needed on their part exactly?
Under Pearson they finished 14th. winning 9 of their last 11 games (including us). In the summer Claudio Raneri brought in Christian Fuchs, Robert Huth, Shinji Okazaki and N'Golo Kante.

I’m just setting out what might happen. Because it happened this way after the Payet season (not helped of course by Payet himself downing tools).

That doesn't read very hypothetical to me.
Regardless, it was aimed at anybody generating negativity.
