    It comes from a radio interview, so they may not have given the full picture, or the correct context for those comments.

    I think the 'bravery' comment refers to the fact that the board were minded to call off the trip.

    Not sure what Moyes can do when he is asked questions, other than answer honestly.

    I disagree chicago. An awful lot of fans didn't want him in the first place and it was considered a risk in employing him. There was also a lot of criticism of the trip to Florida amidst the fans issues, but he took them anyway, and he does deserve all the credit in moving Arnie.

    I think you are being a bit harsh, chicago.

    PS, I agree he was taking a risk joining us. With 2 bad things most recently on his CV, if we had been relegated on his watch that would most likely have finished him in management.

    Yes, although he himself has been quite honest and said (in other interviews) that he didn't have a lot of choice at that point in the season.

    Yes. Moyes hasn't claimed he's unique, as far as I can see.

    Sill can’t work out if I want him to stay or not....it’s driving me nuts!!

    I’ve got this funny feeling with a decent spend in the summer he may get us easily top 10 and possibly pushing higher, and not boring football but a bit more EFC like....

    Rumours of Pellegrini today, would take him though, hasn’t finished outside the top 7 of any team in his last few appointments - that would be a step in the right direction imo

    I was pro Moyes on his appointment and with him most of the way but he all but lost me with the line up against Stoke, which I thought was disappointing to say the least. Now I'm a meh!

    Mind, whoever we have in charge next season needs to be financially supported by the board.

    I was torn about who I’d want to replace him, which gave me overall doubts. But if Pellegrini is an option I would want to change

    Maybe I am being a little harsh, but in my mind the tone of his responses were more about him

    I get that quotes can be taken slightly out of context but I baulked at the point where he is quoted as saying that he did not think it was a risk for West Ham to take him on and that it was he that was taking the risk.

    I certainly agree that there was jeopardy for him as he was entering the last chance saloon, but I would have equally thought that he should recognize the risk that we took on him as his reputation was pretty much in tatters.

    As for the trip, I felt and said at the time that I really thought it fortunate that the trip immediately followed the unrest as, despite the fans reaction, going away was certainly the right thing to do and I doubt that the board, or anyone, would have been brave enough to arrange such a trip in the immediate aftermath.

    I am getting over it...

    There weren't any teams lining up for his services so not much of a risk on his part IMHO.

    Maybe he’s also referring to the risk to each party in monetary terms.

    He took a massive performance based deal which carried a lot of risk.

    And the club only supposedly paid £10k a week unless performance was delivered, which monetarily in isolation, is zero risk.

    I think somebody like Pellegrini would need to overhaul the squad and the mentality of the players in a way that I think is beyond us financially.

    I therefore wonder if Moyes is a better fit for the club, personnel and resources at the moment.

    However, if Moyes does leave, I’ll always be grateful for the short job he’s done, holding the club together and keeping us up, and getting the best out of Arnie, who’s been the best player to watch in a West Ham shirt since Payet in Bilic’s first season.

    I don’t think he’ll struggle to get another PL job and if it isn’t a basket case like Sunderland he’ll do well.

    I don’t understand what you’re saying.

    I have a perfectly long memory, thank you. I can remember Arnie was dreadful before Moyes arrived, for example. I can also remember we were in the relegation zone when Moyes joined and now we aren’t.

    Problem is if we replace Moyes the new manager will probably want to evaluate the squad before deciding any changes and as they don't report back until beginning of July I doubt we'd make any signings until end July or even August.
    Last minute panics again and the Daves can say that the fans wanted Moyes gone and there wasn't time for the new manager to get and gel a new squad.
    That always assumes of course that they can persuade anyone to take the job on as he would be our third manager in about 12 months.

    WIth the clowns owning us? They'll probably haggle all summer over Moyes replacement and then we'll be scraping the barrel over signings.
