He has had considerably more than half a season and is also far from new to the Prem. He has fallen short of both Hodgson and allardyce (similar experienced Prem managers brought in as saviours). So to me he hasn’t really justified himself for a longer stint. And as for the transfers, if the three we signed were his choices, then I wouldn’t trust that part either
I'm pretty sure Moyes said he 'wants to' be managing a team that can challenge for the top 8/6, rather than he 'should'.
Personally, I like what he has said. He's not desperate for our job, but would take it if he felt the club could match his ambition/put the right structures in place.
Since lots of people on here think we should be doing better than we have been in recent years (Payet season apart) presumably they would agree he has a point.
Very confused, was all for Moyes from the outset, think he has done well, but the longer he has been in the job the less I`ve warmed to him. I do think he could do a job, but I find him sooooooooooooooo boring. Not sure I`m bothered either way now. On a different note, anything less than £25 million and I would definitely go for Mario, doesn`t seem everyones cup of tea, but I like him.
The best footballer? Not sure about that. He seems to do a few things 'okay' but otherwise is impact is minimal and his final execution is often lacking.
Well he scored the first goal at home to Southampton and away to Leicester and has a few assists more than Ayew has done since he has been back at Swanswa
That transfermarkt summary is interesting. According to their figures, we bought in £88m worth of talent for £51m, and sold £105m worth for £62m
Not quite right, as we only loaned Jaoa Mario and Hart who have values of £23.4m and £11.7m respectively. However, not quite sure I trust their market value figures, as they have Arnie at only £13.5m and Zaba at £6.3m.
"There is a lot of stuff in the summer, from top to bottom, which needs to change and I mean that because I don’t want to go through another season like this. We need to spend money in the summer. We have a good core of players but we need another 3-4 more good ones."
Is that the sound of a gauntlet being thrown down to the chairmen? ;hmm
Arnautovic on Moyes: "He told me if you don't work hard, you won't play and it made it click in my head so if you see my stats you will see I run a lot. Yes, of course I would like him to stay. He has done a great job but it is not my decision."
Pellegrini is getting paid £200k a week in China. I'm not saying it's impossible but I'd be surprised if he's thinking of giving that up to come to London
I would suggest the £200k a week he's been getting since he moved out there means money is probably not a primary motivator in his next move. Maybe now his pension pot is looking ridiculously healthy he fancies another crack in the PL ;hmm
According to La Marca he's wanted by Sevilla who are currently 7th in La Liga (Europa League), were runners up in the Copa del Rey and quarter finalists in the Champions League despite sacking two managers this season.
He had five seasons with Villarreal, one season with Real Madrid and three seasons at Malaga but failed to win anything in Spain.
Getting Pellegrini would be amazing but if he's going to leave China I suspect he'd prefer a team with a chance of playing in Europe and that isn't going to be us for a few seasons
Latest BBC article quoting Moyes is, IMO, unfortunately more about Moyes from Moyes.
Attributes our survival to the transition of Arnie to the center from the wing and the bravery of taking the team away following the fan protest.
It is my recollection that the trip was not in response to the protest but a happy coincidence as it would have had to have been on the schedule, (in fairness they still went which was the right thing to do) he then goes on to state that people thought that West Ham were taking a risk bringing him in, when in fact it was he that was taking the risk when he agreed to lead a team in the bottom three.
It may be true that he deserves some credit for orchestrating Arnie’s switch, it just seems unfortunate to me that he feels the need to say so himself.

Which is all fine by me though, as I don't think Moyes is the right man for the job.
I like Mario, but not at £25m+
But hes tidy on the ball and energetic
Id be happy for another loan but no chance for £25mil

Since David Moyes succeeded Slaven Bilic, West Ham have earned five PL points more than Rafa Benitez's Newcastle Utd.

The Mirror are running with it. Although with a slightly more tempered tone.

It's 3 more than Newcastle, and only 5 less than Burnley.
League table taking games from when Moyes took over:
That points average would have got us to 44 points over a season.
