Grey - what exactly are you doubting is true? Sullivan said on the club website that Joe Hart was "the best goalkeeper I’ve worked with and I fully expect him to be equally as good for us this coming season", "I expect him to be a great player for our Club and can’t wait to see him in a Hammers shirt at London Stadium for the first time" and "it would not surprise me at all if he is in the running for the Hammer of the Year award come next May"
Bilic was a little more tactful by saying that Hart would have to earn his starting place like everyone else but its not hard to understand how Adrian and Randolph could see Sullivan's statement as an unambiguous message from the board that they were considered as back-up to Hart.
With both Randolph and Adrian hoping to go to the World Cup there's little reason for either of them to want to stay at West Ham
Just a word on ‘Boro. If they do sign Fletcher, they’ll have him, Assombalonga, Braithwaite, Bamford and Gestede as their options up front.
Good luck keeping them all happy…
That reminds me of the time when we had, I think, 7 strikers at the club. I can't remember when or who they were, though. Was it when we had Ilan, Robbie Keane, Mido?

Aslef, the signing of Hart was what set events in motion, imo. Not DS's comments.
They aren't stupid - they'd know Hart was being signed with the expectation that he would be No. 1.
I'm disagreeing with the assertion/belief that Diddy D's comments were the spur for Randy and Adrian to consider doing the off.
Randy and Adrian would have to be thicker than a concrete milkshake to not realise, on their own, that they were going to be playing 2nd fiddle to Hart.
If Adrian was to leave my main cocearn would not be the 2 games against City but if Hart was to suffer a long term injury, leaving us without an experanced keeper for a few months.
According to Slav, we've offered Adrian a new deal ;hmm
He's also confirmed Fletcher has left Germany to speak to Boro, and that he expects someone to leave and someone to come in, but not until the end of the window.
I'm fairly sure that you don't have to name 8 HG players in the 25, but that you need to have room for 8. So, for example, you could name 0 HG players but only have a squad of 17 players. If Fletcher leaves it could be that our squad is 24, plus youth.
Also, I don't think Fletcher leaving will require a replacement in the squad directly. I don't see him as someone who was likely to start any games this year anyway. IMO, for him to actually get a run of games he would need Hernandez, Carroll, Sakho, Ayew & Antonio to all be unavailable at the same time.
I'm not concerned about Adrián leaving, personally. I think it's fairly easy to pick up an experienced back up goalkeeper of sufficient standard. There is talk of Newcastle wanting a swap deal with Karl Darlow, who would be a very capable deputy to Hart. Then there is talk of Bentley from Brentford, who I know a lot less about but seems to be highly rated.
I also don't think DS comments have led to Adrián and Randolph leaving. They are both sensible and realistic enough to know that Hart is better than them, regardless of Sullivan essentially saying so. However, just my opinion, I would have preferred DS to have said nothing at all.

Yes, you are right, I was getting confused. The rules are effectively that if you name 25, 8 must be HG but by implication you can reduce each category equally. (It's different in the lower leagues where they have a HG quota for the team sheet for every match.)
At the outset of the season, each club is allowed to register 25 players over the age of 21. Of those 25 players, 8 must qualify as home grown players (A.1.156). (PL Handbook)

And we all know that is never likely to happen.
I'm assuming this is sarcasm, but yeah it is unlikely that all 5 of those players would be injured at the same time often enough for Fletcher to actually get a run of games as a CF for us.
I mentioned Adrian to Palace for a pathetic amount back on page 15 ;hmm Now its been mentioned again I can have another moan about it! Why would we even think about settling for less than an 8 figure amount ;doh ;angry We're surely not desperate to sell and the inflated market makes the figures quoted embarrassing. Spurs would be asking 25M!

Thinking about FFP.
The 4 we've bought in must all be at the top end of out wage structure...
So we'd either have to ensure our next signing was HG, or name a HG kid in one of the 25 squad places.

Or like the Mrs G says, we could use Cullen, or Rice, or Burke to fill a squad place if we needed to (assuming they don't go on loan)
If Fletcher goes surely we are angling for a move for Andre Gray ? one HG out one in ?
Hart, Byram, Collins, Cresswell, Antonio, Noble, Carroll, (Fletcher).
We had 9 before Randolph left.

Think outside of city and Chelsea who've spent a fortune us, Bournemouth and Everton have done the best moves so far
Imagine telling any Everton fan in 2013 that by 2018, we'd have sold Lukaku, Barkley, Deulofeu and Stones. Shows how far we've come since.
ADRIAN TO PALACE?
Crystal Palace are in talks with West Ham over a £3m deal for goalkeeper Adrian, reports The Daily Mail.
I prefer the swap with Darlow option myself.
