Not sure I agree with Fletcher being sold, Wasnt he rated better than Rashford at Utd? Whether thats true or not it implies there's plenty of talent and potential there. He's looked confident on the ball and taking people on with the small amount of minutes hes been given.
Yes to a loan so he can progress (and if we sold him we'd get appreciably more if he was doing it on loan). He doesnt seem to have been much of a chance. Not sure if its a case of being assessed in training negatively?
7M is chicken feed in todays market for a man who plenty was expected from ;hmm
I'd be disappointing if Fletcher was sold, I think he has ability and good attributes but simply needs to play more and to learn his craft (just like the vast majority of ypung players), so I'd prefer a loan move. It amazes me how quickly some fans write off a player (not on here but elsewhere). I like Lucas Perez and believe he would be a good fit for us although there may be competition from Spain. He has genuine pace, good finisher, left footed, carries the ball well and contributes to goals as well. very tidy player and very surprising why he hasn't played more for arsenal.
Whilst I would be disappointed if Fletcher was sold, let's be realistic.
Last season Ayew and Antonio were preferred to him as a striker. We now have Chicarito who will start most games, and Carroll / Sakho when fit. We also have Martinez who plenty of people have been saying should have been given a chance last year. We almost never play with two strikers, and Fletcher can't play other positions.
Sorry! What? We get 1 'keeper on a season long loan and then sell both Randolph and Adrian. Who plays against City for starters because Hart can't? Then what happens at the end of the season when Hart goes back to City? It's all a bit dam stupid imho.
Totally agree with you Suz, I was happy enough with Adrian being our No1 keeper, and concentrating on getting decent strikers. Seems we are putting the cart before the horse.
Ex suggested last night that the club are looking for out-of-contract 'keepers in case Adrian does go. He mentioned Valdes, but also said we're looking at Bentley (Brentford) and Darlow (Newcastle).
I think they must be confident of getting Hart on a permanent deal next summer. Now we have Hernandez, I wonder if next season’s money may be provisionally committed to buying Hart ;hmm
This was predictable, Sullivan saying publically that Hart is the best keeper he's ever worked with then both Randolph and Adrian looking for a way out in order to find first team football.
What happens next is equally predictable, Hart stays until the end of the season, either we can't agree a transfer fee with City or we can't meet Hart's wage demands and we find ourselves desperately scrabbling around to get a decent keeper before the start of the 18/19 season.
I don't for a second blame Diddy Dee for this (assuming it is true...); it was always a risk when we got Hart, who is a nailed on No 1.
I was worried about the Hart not staying thing, but on reflection, I really don't think it would be hard to find keepers better than either Adrian or Randy (much as I liked them both.)
Next year I think Hart has 1 year left on his contract so fee won't be great, and I don't believe City want to stand in his way, so it'll be down to ambition and wages. Show him our ambition and pay him the wages. Only way if we are to take this 'magical' next step.
£7mil is a decent profit and a decent amount for his current ability.....but it's a short sighted sale
If he goes on loan and gets 10+ goals in the championship....which is very possible...his valuation will be over £10mil approaching £15mil depending if he exceed expectations
Grey - what exactly are you doubting is true? Sullivan said on the club website that Joe Hart was "the best goalkeeper I’ve worked with and I fully expect him to be equally as good for us this coming season", "I expect him to be a great player for our Club and can’t wait to see him in a Hammers shirt at London Stadium for the first time" and "it would not surprise me at all if he is in the running for the Hammer of the Year award come next May"
Bilic was a little more tactful by saying that Hart would have to earn his starting place like everyone else but its not hard to understand how Adrian and Randolph could see Sullivan's statement as an unambiguous message from the board that they were considered as back-up to Hart.
With both Randolph and Adrian hoping to go to the World Cup there's little reason for either of them to want to stay at West Ham

Aslef, the signing of Hart was what set events in motion, imo. Not DS's comments.
They aren't stupid - they'd know Hart was being signed with the expectation that he would be No. 1.
I'm disagreeing with the assertion/belief that Diddy D's comments were the spur for Randy and Adrian to consider doing the off.
Randy and Adrian would have to be thicker than a concrete milkshake to not realise, on their own, that they were going to be playing 2nd fiddle to Hart.
Comments
Wouldn't mind if we have a buy back clause involved (let's say £10mil)
If all the big teams can do it why shouldn't we

He's never going to get games here.
In a current grossly inflated TF market, 3.5M might as well be a free transfer for a first choice Prem keeper
I realize its paper talk at the moment but if it turns out to be accurate I'd like to ask why the fee isn't 10M+
Short rant over ;angry

We've given him another chance in the PL and I think that will count for a lot with him.
I'm 99% certain we'll sign him permanently in January.
Good luck keeping them all happy…

Thinking about FFP.
The 4 we've bought in must all be at the top end of out wage structure...
So we'd either have to ensure our next signing was HG, or name a HG kid in one of the 25 squad places.

Or like the Mrs G says, we could use Cullen, or Rice, or Burke to fill a squad place if we needed to (assuming they don't go on loan)
If Fletcher goes surely we are angling for a move for Andre Gray ? one HG out one in ?
Hart, Byram, Collins, Cresswell, Antonio, Noble, Carroll, (Fletcher).
We had 9 before Randolph left.
