    Totally agree about the process being a good thing but once again the club are shooting themselves in the foot by stupid comments to the media.

    The only comment about our future manager should be "We are currently in the process of looking to appoint a full time manager and hope to have someone in place asap."

    There should be no comments at all from the club about who is their preferred manager is.

    >We tried hard to secure our targets however the end of the transfer window is a hard time to get deals completed and done by, we believe the squad is strong enough for a top half finish.

    People can argue as to whether Gold's stated preference for Moyes was a gaff or not (although without knowing the full background we can't really be sure), but at least he has clarified the situation.

    Most newspapers had it as 'West Ham looking to replace Moyes' when, in fact, it is 'West Ham looking to appoint manager', with Moyes being one of those under consideration.'

    Well at least they have acted quickly but they have to get this appointment right.as is being discussed on another thread, our board are not popular with the fans a the best of times.

    I see the OS has said that the club will make no further comment until the new manager is announced - is this another promise they intend to break?? ;hmm

    Now, I'm pretty sure Sullivan said we weren't going to recruit a Director of Football because Moyes didn't want to work under one.

    Now Moyes has gone, I wonder if that means we'll be getting one ;hmm

    Wasn't particularly thrilled with him but wouldn't have been upset if he got the job

    Have little faith in the owners if i'm honest, but Rafa would prove me wrong

    It’s the “taking steps to identify” bit that concerns me most. I’d have thought that at least they’d have identified the likely candidates and the next step would be to interview and then appoint the right one.
    The transfer window opens tomorrow, the World Cup starts in four weeks time and pres season in 6-7 weeks.
    A high profile top manager would want autonomy but I’m not sure that Sullivan can handle that. His ego would get the better if him and he’d obviously know best.
    It would be interesting to hear Moyes version of why he’s left because Sullivan’s comments suggest it was their decision.

    I suspect (hope) that the "identify" bit was purely to make it appear that they weren't doing that whilst Moyes was in post.

    But who knows with this lot in charge.
