  • Slav - it's allright complaining about not pushing on if it's not your money, is it? I am pretty chuffed with our transfer business so far and if no-one else comes in, so be it. If the need arises I think our squad should be able to cope with injuries and we have youth players who can come in, too. Also, we only need to wait until Jan until we can sign players again.
  • King.

    We should buy King.

What is it with you and Elvis?

Shift a couple out, bring a couple more in

While I agree a couple of extra players could improve our team, I am wary that effectively forcing a couple out and bringing in too many first teamers can cause excessive disruption to the squad and could struggle to gel quickly, potentially damaging our start to the season. Of course contrary to that if we do make another great signing I'll be the first to be singing in delight but you know what I mean...

  • Apparently the deal for Feghouli to Turkey is done.

That will mean Ayew as backup covering AM / Striker. Snodgrass then in backup for backup AM.

I think we need one more AM.

I would also still like a Dynamic DM with the Kouyate injury we have no else like him.
  • I think our squad need to be all shook up.
  • We can only sign more players if we have the wages available to pay them which means we have to sell first as we have hit our wage limit.
  • Apparently the deal for Feghouli to Turkey is done.

I think we need one more AM.

If any players leave, I think they should be replaced ;ok

(But only by someone at least as good. I don't want signings to just make up the numbers. I'd rather save the dosh for when someone who'll improve the starting XI comes available.)
  • Which you know how?
  • Still need a DM and a striker
  • The N'Diaye rumours aren't going away. From what I've read about him he can play the Kouyate role, i.e. box-to-box and can also play the No10 role. I wonder if he's being considered to fill a couple of roles in the squad ;hmm

With Kouyate injured, our midfield for the Man U game is likely to be Obiang and Noble, with Fernandes and Cullen (assuing he's not going on loan) on the bench. Not hugely strong so I wouldn't be surprised if we were looking at another CM.

So why I we still £100m in debut?

We were £100m in debt when they bought the club in 2010?

    Don't understand. ;hmm
  • My only worry about bringing in another designated CM is that the reason Nordtveit left was due to lack of games. Without playing in Europe I don't think we can guarantee a '4th CM' enough games to keep him happy. Therefore it makes sense to give that role to a youth (Fernandes/Cullen). I can understand NDiaye a bit as from what I've read he's a ACM so back up / another option to Lanz, but he also has the ability to cover CM if needed. The other option is to bring in a player better than MN/CK/PO and bump the personnel down the order, but I'm not sure we can get much better at our level than those three so it could cause more disruption than is worth.
  • So why I we still £100m in debut?

We were £100m in debt when they bought the club in 2010?

    Don't understand. ;hmm

I think, after selling our home, increased sponsorship, capacity and generally everything, they forgot to pay it off? Or bought stuff with it like players ;hmm

In any case, they're supposed to be smart businessmen so its been around for years and they're not panicking about it. So I am not going to (unless it means less transfers now and in the future ;nonono ;weep ;wahoo )
  • ;nonono Buying players?

Sheesh, they'll be paying wages next.

  • Ok calm down, the Upton gentlemans X1 will never go professional ;nonono
  • Maybe they consolidated all their debts into one affordable monthly payment, and didn't read the small print.

    Another victim of Ocean Finance.
  • Apparently Sully has said, "hopefully we'll buy one or two more" and also hasn't ruled out a move for Wilshere...
  • I'll be disappointed if Feghouli leaves. Many pros/former pros have stated how hard and different playing in the prem is to the rest of Europe and it can take up to a season to adjust. Plus he had that injury at the start of the season. I thought as the season got going he proved a good option. The lad has pace, can dribble, a good cross, even had some decent one touch stuff when on the break. He had a good engine too and although his tackling isn't anything to write home about he tracked back and hustled when we were in defensive mode. I think he can be a useful player for us. I'd definitely like him to get another season. If we get someone in from Europe again to replace him it will take them time to adjust, where as he now hopefully is past that stage. Just my opinion.
  • The more I look at it unless we sell either Carroll or Sakho I can't see us bringing in another striker unfortunately. We only really play one CF, and currently we have 'Lil Pea, AC, Sakho, Fletcher, Martinez, and Ant and Ayew can play there at a push. Of course in pref maybe N.S.Fletcher and Martinez would get season loans and we bring in another striker, but for a good one I'm not sure that will free enough wages. Obvs we all know AC and Sakho's injury issues but we still have to pay their wages currently too. I would ideally sell Sakho to provide the wages and space and bring in another striker but we tried that last season and couldn't sell. I feel we'll have to wait until next season when we let Sakho leave as his contract runs out, then we bring in another (hopefully) top striker option.
  • Sullivan says on talkSPORT 'still £100m in debt'. ;lol

We'll never hear the end of that.

Also says Sakho is 100% fit.

Says we don't need any more midfielders.

    ;nonono
  • to be honest I would be happy with Hernandez,Carroll, and Sakho if we can keep Sakho head straight and Carroll fit half the season .
  • ;hmm guess that is a lot to ask
  • Steve ;ok

Hernandez and a fully fit and focused Sakho and a fully fit and focused Carroll would give us an incredibly strong options up front.

Unfortunately, there aren't many West Ham fans that have any faith that Sakho and Carroll with be either fully fit or focused for long, if at all.

    We need another striker, IMO.
  • Lets not pin hopes on Sakho and Carroll that boat sunk a long time ago
    Another striker in is needed.
  • I believe we will get another striker in if sakho and his wages are shifted on and fletcher is loaned out

I also believe another cm will arrive if one or both of feg/snodgrass are sold

  • Yep, a CM should be the next signing IMO
  • I'd rather give Fernandes and Cullen a chance tbf, although someone like N'Diaye who sounds quite versatile could be a smart signing
  • Did anyone else see Sullivan's comment about Calleri and Zaza being dreadful?
  • Well he's not wrong.....but another unnecessary comment that is unprofessional and didn't need mentioning
