Benitez could maybe attract a few bigger names than Bilic , I talked to a Newcastle fan and Benitez was not happy in January during the transfer window so I think it will depend on Ashley getting his wallet out. Not that I think we should get rid of Bilic at this moment in time but Benitez is one of the few managers who I think is a step up.
I notice the club has started up that idiotic Mediawatch section on the website again. Today's section includes speculative content that undermines Bilic's position. Amateurish.
Bilic hasn't gone from overseeing our best ever season (points wise) to not being the man for us.
The club need to do the right thing here and back him. Don't make the mistake of thinking he's the reason we're struggling and not the fact the net spend this season has been pretty low.
We have the 6th highest net spend in the PL this season.
And net spend isn't really relevant, since the club had never planned to sell Payet, so it's not like they were being cheap in the summer, when they spent over £50m and only sold Tonka for £10m.
The simple fact is we spent over £70m on bringing in players this season.
I'm really not sure what good it does to try to avoid or deny that.
Bilic is only under pressure because the 9 players we signed are not good enough its that simple , you could argue Ayew Fonte, and Snodgrass but the rest where simply rubbish imo .
we lack leaders and certainly lack real pace in this time with the exception of Antonio , Mancini is not the man to replace Bilic imo he is used to managing teams with much higher calibre of players than we have and much bigger transfer budget than we are willing to offer him , if bilic goes we should look at the guy at Hull who I think will turn out to be a real class manager in time at the right club. ;ok

This article beggars belief. It must be skating very closely towards constructive dismissal IMO

Why on earth do they do it??..
Think you've answered your own question there.
?
Are you suggesting the club want Bilic to leave and to sue them for constructive dismissal?
Jinxed on kumb says Slav has a few hours left. Reckon Bilic will be sacked after the Arsenal game rather than before and give the new manager a baptism of fire against Arsenal

NO

Quite a good article on Bilic and our troubles this season

Sorry but whilst Mancini was my first choice I realise that we are far too small a club for him.
He'll want Champions League.
"Let’s start with the attack. Andy Carroll missed most of the first half of the season, which is news on a par with the sun rising in the east"
;lol
£30m was offered and accepted but wasn't buying bats or bacca
Eur40m wasn't buying Lacazette
No top top drawer player player wanted to come even after our astonishing efforts of last season
Now whether this is because they didn't want West Ham or they didn't think Bilic was a big enough name to play for who knows??..
Why on earth do they do it??..
Doesn't explain why he's been at our last four home games?
Are you suggesting the club want Bilic to leave and to sue them for constructive dismissal?
Doesn't seem a plausible (conspiracy) theory to me.
(Also, I don't see much evidence that they undermine managers, but that's an aside to the main issue)
Interesting reading.
Another one to comment on, I hope.
