Not that I think the owners are even considering sacking Slav, BUT
Did anyone read the interview with Les Reed on the BBC last week? He was saying that Southampton have a method in place where they are constantly scouting managers and players and have ideas on multiple possible replacements for all existing players and staff. He said that Koeman leaving was unexpected, but that they were still prepared because they had such an in depth knowledge of who they would be interested in if they ever needed a change.
I think it's extremely unlikely that, in a profession as public as football, there are any clubs who are not keeping tabs on multiple options just as a contingency.
alderz, I agree. If, however, we don't get a few points on the board in the (on paper) easier games coming up, then unless there are mitigating circumstances, I could see it being more likely.
Not saying they will, mind. And I hear what you say about Grant, but the situation f the club is different now, so I don't think it's a direct comparison.
He's basically gone all in with yesterdays comments. Made it black and white, with no murky area in between.
If the players don't respond positively, in training and then in matches, he'll be gone, because it will just highlight they're not on board with him. He knows it. He knows he's played his ace card early and if it doesn't pay off he'll have nothing else.
Needs a performance full of guts against LFC, no matter the outcome, and then a win over Burnley, otherwise it'll be curtains.
I will be gutted if he loses his job... But it's a results business and this season we are lacking them... I'd sooner stick with him and see if he can handle it, we have had so many worse managers IMO ... But time will tell, has got to have till Xmas surely ...
That's our season right there. Need to be targeting a minimum of 9 points.
Last season was excellent. This season so far has been awful. He deserves time but if we don't get anything out of the games above then there may be no choice but to let him go.
Thing with Slav is I thought he'd be a bit angry as a manager. Like 'you wouldn't want to mess with him'. But he's quite the opposite. Open, honest, nice...
Maybe the players are taking the mick. Think they can get away with it as he's a bit soft.
Look at Bournemouth: a weaker team than ours beat Liverpool today. This is what happens when the manager can motivate the players. And then look at what is going on under Bilic.

I think he's both, just wondering if it creates a little bit of a "favourite" culture?
It's fine ruling with an iron fist when you're getting results but when your not.....
I think one of the issues is that I would imagine the Daves are looking to spend in January (lets hope so ), but would they trust Slav with the cash after the complete mess up that was the summer transfer window?
I think he can turn it around and when players are fit and with a new face or two in January we will begin to resemble last season, and that will take us clear.
I think Reid will be a big player as he looks up for it and has on occasion lately hit his best form, he looks more and more like a leader also so I would give him the armband and ask him to take charge on the pitch, hopefully that will spur others on. Noble may not be happy but he is having one good game in every four at present and I think we need more.

So.
A week later I'm asking how at risk is he from getting the sack right now.
SPLOSH.
If they didn't sack Avram in a far worse position then they won't sack Slav

Last season was sensational. You don't become bad after 14 games. He showed how good he was tactically with the wins against the big teams.
But we know the Dave's will not watch us slide to the foot of the table in our new 'glorious' home.

Antonio - Reid - Ogbonna - Cresswell
Kouyate - Obiang
Ayew - Payet - Lanzini
Carroll
Can we get that XI out in the coming weeks?

Thing when I watched the game back
