So, if all goes well, Kudos could be flying back with Steidten today.
I just pressed 'Excellent' on this, but in reality I have never seen this guy play, and until last week I'd never even heard of him. His stats didn't excite me particularly, but ooh! New thing! Exciting! Shiny!
Which one of the two, if either, do people think we should be pursuing "properly" Doku who is all set to go to Manchester City or Wahi who we could missed out on IF we are genuinely trying to hijack the Doku deal? Rumours are Pep won’t pay the extra £5 million to sign Paqueta it’s not actually coming out of his pocket by the way!
Kudus has played the majority of his games as a CM, second most is ST, then attacking midfield. So he looks to me like a replacement for Paqueta, maybe we will sanction that deal if we can sign him. If we don’t Paqueta stays. He could be a striking option. He’s never played on the left.
Not sure what Moyes drinks these days, but £40m for Solanke? Is there a rush to spend the Declan Rice money?
Surely Moyes would have just said “I’d like Dom Solanke” and then someone else would do the negotiations? Also, I would say 85% of transfer deals this summer have looked hugely overpriced to me.
When Moyes was asked if JWP was going to be captain, he said it was going to be game by game atm and he'd decide when the transfer window is shut; to me that's an admission that he's still waiting on Maguire to come in.
The suggestion is that the Greek CH we've been looking at has a long standing back issue, isn't currently fit, and may well need an operation. I still think Maguire is likely to rock up here by the end of the window.
buffy, There are reported to be 5 CH’s we are being linked with from the Budesliga we may yet sign one. 😄. I am saying this more in hope than certainty as the other scenario isn’t good IMHO.
I hope the team doesn't become like Trigger's broom. It feels like we changed all the handles last transfer window, and all the heads this transfer window. The same team, but different handles and heads??
Are West Ham partly responsible for the current high fees being charged for average or unproven players? I think rightly we asked for that money for Rice, but now everyone is going for huge, and IMO unwarranted, money. Or is it more because of the Saudi money?
All clubs are responsible. The money just moves around. I wish that for every transfer, a percentage went to grass roots football or a good cause. Even just 1% would make a difference.

It’s also Chelsea and fees they’re willing to pay, and the fact that some of the top teams seem pretty desperate.
Chelsea paying 106M or so for their Artentine DM didnt help and possibly made it viable for us to expect such a large fee for Rice. All their other business like Mudryks price may have contributed too

Mavropanos stayed on the bench last Saturday for the Pokal 1st round match against TSG Balingen (German 4th tier) and they put out the "A team".
He didn't get much of a pre season either, just 45 minutes against Vitesse Arnhem 22 July and 30 minutes in the last friendly against Sheffield Utd 5 August.
If the Toney precedent is anything to go by, he will get a lengthy ban. So. WHU will need a replacement. When will these guys learn.
You'd think there might well be something in it, Man City supposedly lost interest due to "a confidential issue" according to a number of tweets earlier today.

Don't shoot the messenger!
Good news if its true, Paqueta certainly doesn't seem to be the sort of player to go into an Incredible Sulk over this
We have set a price of the £85m release fee & City haven’t gone any higher than £60m-£70m.
Last season he was RW from end of January onwards although before than he switched around between CF, AM and RW.
The two seasons before that he was mostly an AM/CM.

West Ham star Lucas Paqueta is being investigated by the FA for potential betting breaches, as his £70m transfer to Man City collapses, three months after Ivan Toney was handed a ban https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-12421055/West-Ham-star-Lucas-Paqueta-investigated-FA-potential-betting-breaches-70m-transfer-Man-City-collapses.html
