IMO if we don’t start Fornals next week after recent performances, he’s got to wonder what he needs to do to impress Moyes, etc. Offer him a new contract NOW!

(Also while watching Sky post match last night, he was in the background playing football with his toddler on the pitch - a real down to earth hammer!).

Might be nothing, but there have been suggestions that he's failed/had issues with his medical relating to his longstanding back problems (which I think I've mentioned here previously). Could be a ploy to try to get a loan with an option deal instead of a purchase.

Given he was photographed at the game yesterday though, it's difficult to know for sure what's going on.

Who will play the piper...We need 2 teams of 11 plus 8 reserves, to cover another European adventure as I see it..bring Linguard back into the fold and use him in the Euro team, with Cresswell, Johnson, Potts Fab, Ings, Coventry, Cornet Benny Fornals and Obana..add new Greek guy to EPL team and we still have reserves to cover injuries and suspensions. Make JWP capitano, vc Cresswell -cap of euro 11. We should have a better season

I think this might be a possibility, a loan with an option like we did with Areola initially. PSG are a club that seem happy to do business with us without asking for ridiculous amounts of money (we got Kehrer from them as well), and we were linked with Ekitike last summer before he moved to PSG on loan with an obligation.

The obligation was triggered so PSG bought him, but I'm not sure he really figures in their plans; he didn't have the best of seasons, but PSG's front line is tough to get in to. They also play with a lot of possession, whereas the previous season Ekitike did well in a Reims team that play with a low block and little possession, sound familiar?

Not sure how good the source is, but Ekitike on loan with an option has been mentioned today. Seems Fortune and I were well ahead of the game here 😊.

I would tbh, someone further forward has to come in even if it's only Lingard on a short term contract (but I'm hopeful it will be more than that).

I see that Romelu Lukaku is being linked with us. I can't help wondering whether at age 30 he has passed his prime and unlikely to be an EPL player in maybe another 3 years. As he has already won the Serie A title, will he have the hunger. I always wondered why he didn't get on at Chelsea.
