I remember when Moyes arrived at Man United and spent most of the summer trying to buy Cesc Fabregas and ended up with Fellaini. I hope that doesn't happen to us.
The answer is obvious. We won't pay the going rate. Sullivan held out for what he thought Rice was worth but now the shoe is on the other foot he won't pay out. I've seen articles which have said that we can't attract players because they don't like Moyse's tactics or is it because we make a low ball offer and say that's all we think the player is worth and won't budge on that price and then walk away? All i know is that if this carries on like this i won't be looking forward to the start of the season.

Forget the manager and the squad, at director level, from what I understand, the toxic vibes banging off the club would put most people off joining. I wonder how many of these offers are even communicated from the agent to the player; if I was the agent, I'm not sure I'd bother phoning my client with some of the details we've heard about.
I know I have been told to not take too much notice of the people on keyboards in Surrey who just post what they have read elsewhere but the source of these comments is believed to be genuine. I have also heard David Moyes gets to talk to the players prior to them signing on & then they go away and decide not to. IF I had the chance to sign for West Ham I would probably declined based on what I understand our manager says to them. They want some positive assurances from him and it appears he just doesn't do that as he is reported to have done this with previous non signings. No I don't have a source to these reports.
Tried to book a table for some food at the Positive Arms but they said the kitchen was closed for business as the Landlord and Chef couldn't agree on what should be on the menu.
The most worrying thing for me is that there's renewed talk about Maguire. £20m is already way too much (I don't want him here at all), anything beyond that is crazy given no-one else is remotely interested and Man Utd have brought in Jonny Evans and play Shaw ahead of Maguire at CB; Maguire is probably their 6th choice CB.
If the talk is accurate (I know, a big if) and Moyes is pushing this (and I don't believe anyone else at the club will be) then it's 100% time for Moyes to go.
£30m for JWP is already too much imo, Soton may be playing hardball of a few possible sales, but I doubt the others are on the sort of wages that JWP is on, so he's the one they really need to shift. Will be very disappointed if any deal for JWP is over £30m.
It sounds like we've made a £30m take it or leave it offer for JWP, which Southampton have decided to leave.
Zakaria is said to be in talks re personal terms and would appear to be the closest to signing, but given he's been close for longer than Carlos 'I'm off to Amsterdam' Borges was, I'm not holding my breath on that one getting done.
Meanwhile, we effectively seem to have just one senior left-back at the club as Cresswell is said to still not be training and angling for a move away, but our supposed replacement (Adrien Truffert) looks set to sign a new deal with Rennes.
And as we're discussing our needs at CM and LB, Bournemouth are said to be close to signing Red Bull model candidate Alex Scott for £25m having already signed Red Bull model candidate Milos Kerkez.

Ain't me I'm in Essex 😉 BTW There is a notice on the door of the Positive Arms which says "Closed due to club poisoning" sorry I read it wrong "Food Poisoning"

My gut feeling is it's a shame about Alex Scott. When I saw him he had a bit of the Grealish about him
How about who other teams have lost rather then signed ,Just see Sheff utd have had to sell there 14 goal scorer Ndiaye ,Wolves have let a few go ,Fulham might loose mitrovic .sure there must be others ,so perhaps not so bad after all .............who am i kidding it is pretty bad
I was saving this until the first match thread but...

Yeah, he looked a level above the Championship when I saw Bristol City's cup games last season. They also played Pompey recently in pre-season and three of my family were there and said he was the best player on the pitch by a mile.
I think he represents good value at £25m, too. Obviously you're paying more for his potential, but he does look to have something about him.

No disagreements, the kitchen is always open, and the menu is anything you want it to be. I'd stay away from reading those ITK's if I were you.
Atalanta prepared to pay £25.8m for Scamacca Atalanta are exploring a deal to sign West Ham striker Gianluca Scamacca - and are prepared to pay £25.8m (€30m). Inter Milan are expected to go back in with an improved bid worth €30m after having a €20m offer rejected. As it stands, Scamacca is leaning towards Inter if a deal can be agreed.
West Ham not giving up on Ward-Prowse West Ham are looking at alternatives to James Ward-Prowse – but Sky Sports News has been told they have not given up on signing him. Southampton rejected a take it or leave it bid worth £30m prompting West Ham to walk away from talks. Southampton’s valuation is closer to £40m and for a deal to get done, it’s likely they would have to compromise on the price. Significantly, West Ham are getting encouragement the player wants to join.
I’m backing a late deal for Gallagher Chelsea waiting for reinforcements Then he will become available later and for a more reasonable price

This morning reports that Saints are willing to lower their demands
Now reports we have made a "final" bid of £30m
Nothing is "final"
