  • I'm on the fence about Origi. I don't know about as a starter but as a sub for Liverpool he showed he could be a really sharp finisher. He's got more of that direct physical approach that suits how we've played best under Moyes. I think if we could get Scamacca to thrive, he'd be a much better player. But maybe Origi suits us more?
  • Origi would be a better option off the bench than Ings is, IMO, but I don’t want to lose Scamacca
  • I'm hoping the Ings hair transplant is like a new signing.

His goal alone in the Spurs game suggests he can succeed with us. Showed awareness to stay onside, a lovely first touch, surprisingly decent pace and a composed finish.

Get the right players around him, and give him the right service, and he cold be a real player for us.

On the subject though, rumours around this afternoon that Inter have made a £17m bid for him.
  • I think Gallagher alongside a pure DM would be decent business and fit the idea of Rice needing to be replaced by two players who combined have his qualities.

I certainly think Gallagher alongside Alvarez and Paqueta is much more balanced than JWP alongside the other two. If we manage to kick JWP into touch, I can see Gallagher or McTominay coming in; Youssouf Fofana would be a better and more cost effective option, but obviously the other two are home grown and we're at the stage where this is a consideration.
  • Scamacca will 💯% be off this summer imo
There’s no smoke without fire and there is constant noise over in Italy about him returning home.
  • Pay the money and he can go. I'd definitely say no to a loan. I'd rather keep him though.
  • Can't see us getting what we paid for him ,what was it 35 million
  • For me, he’s shown enough for us to stick with him. If someone wants to pay more than we paid for him, then maybe we let him go. But he’s good enough to definitely not need to sell him for peanuts.
  • As reported by Tuttosport, Juventus are hoping to send Zakaria to West Ham on a loan deal with an obligation to buy clause attached, set at around €18-20m. The Hammers are not keen to pay such a high fee and are seemingly considering a move for Bayern Munich’s Leon Goretzka.

Despite the distance, contact between the two clubs remains open and things could progress in the coming weeks.
  • I think all the noise from Italy is because they want to see him back but Moyes does like Scamacca and we need him. Unless we get all the money back and can find a top rate replacement he has to stay.
  • Scamacca is great up front -as OCS wrote, imagine him scoring like against Spurs every game. Then imagine taking him off after 65 minutes and putting in Origi!

Thought Goretzka was absolutely adamant he wasn't leaving Bayern? 🤔

Though to be fair, even if he wanted out, he wouldn't come here.

And the Zakaria story hasn't actually moved on for about a month. Sounds like Tuttosport just regurgitating old stories.
  • Zakaria feels to me like he's some way down our list, at least as far as a purchase is concerned. If it was a simple loan, or a loan with an option (ie something that left it in our control) then I think the deal would have been done already. However, as a purchase or a loan with an obligation at the sort of price mentioned, then I think there's others we're trying to get over the line before resorting to Zakaria.

Personally I think he'd provide good options in midfield given he can play as a 6 or an 8 so I'd be interested in addition to say, Alvarez and one of Fofana, Gallagher or McTominay, but I'm not sure we'll be bringing in 3 CMs this window.
  • Gallagher would be a good signing in my view and I would be optimistic that we could help him find his Palace form that brought him to everyones attention.

  • Alvarez, paqueta and gallagher would be a decent midfield (on paper). I cant say im excited about being linked with Origi. Especially if its a replacement for scamacca. But he does suit moyes tactics
  • I heard recently that Gallagher is effectively one of two central midfielders Chelsea have left, along with Enzo Fernandes. I can't believe they'd sell him until they've bought at least another 2-3 midfielders themselves.

They've already lost Kante, Kovacic, Loftus-Cheek, Mount and Havertz.

I'm sure they'd be happy to have a reason to spend more money

Ings or Origi up top first game of the season then 🫠
  • If Mbappe is worth £259M then surely we should get a few quid for Antonio.
  • should have got 259 m for Rice =)

So from the various outlets tonight, it appears nothing is particularly close, other than a deal for Borges which is, according to Sky, to be completed "within a week or so".

Alvarez, Zakaria, McTominay, Gallagher and JWP continue be monitored (whatever that means), and Maguire, Harwood-Bellis and Chalobah are being considered at CB.
  • But on the bright side, Sully has a swelled bank balance.
  • A week or so for Borges,Why does our transfers take so long ,Time for Spurs to nip in and outbid us i guess =)

City will have a buy back option as well which I wasn’t aware of
Or missed when the deal was first mentioned
  • Or they might go for match the offer deal, where a club makes an offer and City match it if we decide to sell.

  • This is gonna annoy palace fans so much 🤣
  • Apparently was submitted last week and was rejected. 😂
