  • buffy, Do we really think Rice is staying?

See Tottenham Women have got their new manager in place whilst "The Baroness" appears to have done little to replace Paul Konchesky or have there been any rumours of any incoming players. :p
  • buffy, Do we really think Rice is staying?

No, of course not, but if something went wrong and the deal fell through, then we could be in trouble if we've already spent the money and it doesn't materialise.

  • I hope, just hope that we have a CM (or two) lined up.
The hole Rice leaves is huge.
  • Anybody predicting a £25m bid plus Downes for Ward-Prowse?

Hugely overpriced at that. Downes is realistically valued at £10-15m (hasn't torn up the PL, don't think he's been so bad he wouldn't still be attractive to Champioship teams), so that would value JWP at about £37m which is shocking business.

  • Felipe targeted by Hammers
West Ham are in talks with Real Betis over the signing of defender Luiz Felipe.
Discussions have been described as positive and centre on fee and structure of the deal.

West Ham still in talks for Zakaria | Juve want £21m
West Ham remain in positive talks with Juventus over the signing of midfielder Denis Zakaria.
It’s thought Juventus only want to do a permanent deal or at the very least a loan that comes with an obligation.
There is a gap in valuation for the player with Juventus understood to want a deal worth £21.3m (€25m).
  • 21M for an international DM really isnt much (to be not getting it done).
  • I think 15M plus Downes for JWP would be good. I dont even want him though. Apparently Downes played well in the pre season game though...
  • I think we need keep Downes as we need reliable squad players, Lanzini has gone who was exactly that, maybe not first eleven but able to come in for early Europa matches and domestic cup fixtures, and of course injury cover.

I agree, I think we should keep Downes. A lot of his games came in a strange position he wasn't suited to. I want to see more of him and think he was totally capable in those early Europa Conference games and should be fine in the Europa League as well.

I really can't remember many outstanding outfield performances from JWP tbh. I'm not even sure we're getting a massive upgrade on Downes if we swap them. (Maybe I'm completely off here).
  • Agree that we need Downes around .the thing about JWP is that he can whip a cross in and if we do keep Scamacca that could work as Scamacca is pretty good in the air
  • I want to keep Downes, and I really like JWP. He reminds me of Noble.
  • Lanzini has absolutely killed me on Instagram.
  • So that's decided then we keep Downes ,who is going to tell Moyes =)

For those that haven't seen it:

  • So. Harvey Barnes then. What do we reckon? Heavily linked and reported to be one of Moyes' primary targets.

Rumours have ranged from him wanting to stay in the midlands to him being keen to move to London. Reports of him moving to Newcastle were rife a few days ago but it's now emerged that they haven't even made a bid for him.

Don't know why but it just feels like he'll end up at West Ham. Very much a Moyes player and his profile just seems right for us.

We've made the No7 shirt available, which may of course be completely coincidental, but something just screams West Ham about him to me.

I don't think we'll announce anything until Rice has gone, but I just have a feeling that we'll sign Barnes before the month is out.
  • Have said since last season I’d like to see a direct out ball for counters like we had when Lingard was on loan. So think Barnes would be a good signing.
  • We as supporters don't really get to see how the club is run and how it feels to be part of it but we must be doing something right behind the scenes as Lanzini's words seem very heartfelt. He is also a player who could be reasonably disgruntled as he has not played as he would have liked these last two or three years, so to have nothing but good to say I think really say that the managers, players and backroom colleagues must really be getting something right. Sad to see him go.
  • Bournemouth are ahead of Tottenham, West Ham and Wolves in the chase for Bristol City's English midfielder Alex Scott, 19. (Teamtalk)

  • Sky Sport Italia claim Juventus have enquired after Gianluca Scamacca, battling Milan and Roma for the West Ham striker, but only if Dusan Vlahovic is sold.

The news comes after reports in Le Parisien that Paris Saint-Germain made a similar approach to Vlahovic’s entourage to ask for information on a potential move.

It would all be part of the domino effect that could be sparked by Kylian Mbappe’s exit from PSG, especially as Victor Osimhen has been ruled out by the €200m Napoli asking price.

Scamacca wants a return to Serie A after one season with West Ham United, where he has struggled to settle.

Roma and Milan have been in negotiations, but are only prepared to sign him on loan with an option to buy, which the Hammers are not interested in accepting.

If Juve were to sell Vlahovic, then they would be in a position to reinvest in the Italy international centre-forward.
  • The door is that way Scamacca
  • We seem to have a good relationship with Juve, and have been talking to them about Zakaria. Wouldn't surprise me if Scamacca's been discussed, too.

He's never looked happy at West Ham - like, literally, I can't remember seeing him smile - but he might just have one of those personas.

I'd be surprised if he wasn't back in Italy by the end of the window though to be honest.

    Haller looked permanently grumpy too

Yeah, like I say, that might just be who they are. I mean, I've seen some of Scamacca's social media posts and he rarely looks happy in those, either. He could be blissfully happy playing in Stratford but his face would never let it be known.

Well this isn't helpful, is it. I suppose we need to know the context (he might go on to say that he's happy at West Ham and loves working with Moyes), but it's not a great look right now.
  • From a post on KUMB from someone having allegedly read the article. Maybe the journos are just stirring it up for poor little West Ham. That would be a change, wouldn't it.

    .............................................................................

Scamacca: “Roma is home for me. And Totti my idol as a child. And what player in the world wouldn’t dream of being coached by Mourinho? I am convinced that Mou would stimulate me and with him I would improve even more.”

“If I had to return to Serie A, it wouldn’t be because I failed in England, that’s not the case. Simply because it would be an unmissable opportunity. No, it wouldn’t even be a step backwards for my career: our league remains one of the best.”

“Maybe people don’t know it, but I played all year with a broken meniscus. Then at a certain point it was impossible to continue and I ended up under the knife. Until March, I played 27 games, scored 8 goals. It could have been better, but it could have been even worse. The Conference League win was a great joy for everyone: it was our passion from the beginning of the season. I didn’t play in the final against Fiorentina, it’s true, but of course I feel the Conference is mine. I scored 3 goals in the Cup in 7 games.”
  • Just to add

“I’ve always made decisions with my heart and will continue to do so,” said the striker.

“You know the colours of my heart, but right now I am a West Ham player and happy here.”
  • Fair enough

Has anyone seen much of Zakaria? I have seen clips of him. He looks strong, quick and skillful. But i dont know enough about him to get excited. Whats peoples thoughts on him?
  • I remember seeing him last season in a game for Chelsea and actually messaged my Chelsea mate saying how good he was in that game.
