candbsky, Will Dithering Dave still be in post at Christmas?
I really hope so as they stuck with him last season even when it got really difficult so if they let him go by Christmas I think we would have to be in real trouble.
I really hope Moyes shows his quality and gets us playing at our best again, without Rice however any failings will be taken advantage of without him in front of the defence. I do seem to recall he was at Everton when Rooney was sold so he is not new to losing a world class player from his side and having to rebuild.
It will be interesting to see if we sign some different players this window to the ones I believe David Moyes would want. Tim Steidten must have a few players in his records who our manager will probably not have heard of but none the less who we should be looking to sign. Time will tell.
Fulham have joined West Ham in the race to sign James Ward-Prowse this summer, although Southampton are yet to receive an offer for the England midfielder, 28. (Football Insider)
Brentford have submitted a £13m bid for Strasbourg's Habib Diallo as they look to beat West Ham to a deal for the Senegal striker, 28. (Football Insider)
West Ham have contacted Ajax about the availability of Mexico midfielder Edson Alvarez, with the Dutch side seeking a fee between £35-40m for the 25-year-old. (Athletic - subscription required)
The Hammers are also working on a deal to sign Denis Zakaria, 26, but Juventus want 20m euros (£17.1m) for the Switzerland midfielder. (Sky Italia)
Rice deal done, movement needs to happen now. Need bodies through the doors in the next week or so. Completely unacceptable from the club if we do not have replacements lined up ready to go upon completion of this deal.
Always reminds me of the first (I think) episode of Not Going Out, Lee Mack misreads a flyer, having a dig at youf culture in the process "Are you looking for a job init" (Are you looking for a job in IT").
Given the scope of the work that was required, surely the PL could have factored this in when drawing up the fixture list; simply reversing the Burnley fixture should surely have been possible without any major implications later in the season, and would have given Luton an extra couple of weeks to get the work done.

Buffy, wouldn't that have required a modicum of common sense though?
It may or may not mean anything, but I notice that not only have we made Harvey Barnes' No7 shirt available, but Harvey Barnes' No7 shirt at Leicester has been given to someone else.
Still think he'll be our first signing of the summer.
If Wolves are getting rid of their squad, I wouldn't mind Ait Nouri. Plnety of times last season he was overlooked for a more defensive player. He'd be great for us as a LWB. Him and a Livramento type of RWB. Scott, Zakaria or whoever DM we eventually pick. Broja from Chelsea too. Have I spent the Rice money yet? How much have I got left, that was too quick!
I do understand the doubts about Maguire but he could be the buy of the window at a low price or on loan. He is Englands centre back and was a huge part of Leicesters title winning season. I think his confidence is shot at United but he is not a bad player.
It's a Lingard moment. not working out for him at United but coming to a lower profile team with a point to prove and Moyes man management could work wonders.
I would not be paying 30m for him but a loan or 10-15m transfer could turn out a gamble worth taking.
Claret, I’m pretty sure he joined Leicester after they won the title. Personally have always thought he was overrated, even while at Leicester. He wandered into midfield a few times for England and was branded a ball playing CB when I think he’s only ever been an average, solid English CB.

Nice little insite into how we do our business 😂

So who was the world class player? Surely not thug Rooney?
Rooney only had two seasons with 77 appearances at Everton before he went to Man U two months shy of his 19th birthday
Everton finished 17th in Rooney's last season and finished 4th the season after they sold him
