I'm just waiting for the Rice announcement, we all know it's coming, I just want it over and done with so we can move forward.
Feels like a weight round the club's neck at the moment. Can't wait for it to be announced so we can get on as a club without him.
It’s literally been four weeks since Declan led us to a massive victory. It’s a British record fee of over £ 100 m. It’s not going to happen that quickly is it?

And we've had nothing but Rice transfer talk in those four weeks. If a deal was agreed on Wednesday then there shouldn't be any more delays. Bored of hearing about it.
An academy player not having the best of times is worth a grin?
Ex-academy player who some thought would be the next big thing and that we made a huge mistake when he was transferred out but after four seasons Baggies fans clearly don't rate
West Ham interested in Torino defender Schuurs - Sky in Italy West Ham are interested in Torino central defender Perr Schuurs, according to Sky in Italy. Schuurs’ contract is up in 2026 with the option of a further year. The 23-year-old has played for Netherlands at U19, U20 & U21 level.
La Stampa claims we may offer Vlasic plus €20m (£17m)
Joined Torino from Ajax last season after 95 appearances (inc Champions and Europa League) for €9.4m (£8m)
I cant believe its been that long since the upset about letting Grady go. At the time plenty of fans were moaning (and I think it was because we had nobody making any waves at the club but him. We certainly have done a few things of note since!)
Diangana's first season at WBA was on loan, we didn't sell him until summer 2020
Tuttosport claim Klopp wants Liverpool to make a €40m (£34.3m) bid for Perr Schuurs having had an earlier €30m (£25.7m) rejected
On the plus side if Torino get £34.3m for Schuurs they can afford the £12.7m we want for Vlasic and the £10.4m Udinese are reportedly asking for CB Rodrigo Becao with a bit of spare change left over
Some Newcastle fans seem to think Barnes is a smokescreen for someone else, which might give us hope.
Really liked the idea of Barnes. Basically he's a left-sided Bowen, which would have been good.
I feel like we really need to capitalise on this window. Arguably we're in the strongest position we've been in for 40+ years; European champions and playing in the Europa League again. If we don't bring in the elite players now, then we may miss the boat as I doubt we'll have European football in 24/25 to attract them.
Lots of negative talk on Twitter that we may only have a £50m budget due to the UEFA FFP rules (obvs something we need to abide by being in the Europa League). This isn’t due to PL FFP but UEFA.
This is just another example of modern football. We signed several players last season who have all been here a year. Aguerd, Scamacca, Kehrer, Emerson, Paqueta, Cornet. We don’t all of a sudden need to spend another £150m. There is a way where players can improve & get better. We started to see it towards the end of the season with Paqueta, Kehrer & Emerson, performances improving. Cornet barely got a look in & Scamacca was basically not about from February.
We don’t need to splash money. We need to add a handful of players, including a couple of Rice replacements, to strengthen & they may well be loans with a buy option later or cheaper players who nobody has heard of. Looks like we are losing Barnes & I did want him, but we do have Benrahma & Cornet for that left slot. We still have a squad of players.
Newcastle close in on signing Leicester’s Harvey Barnes for £35m Newcastle are close to beating Aston Villa and West Ham to the signing of the Leicester winger, Harvey Barnes.
Eddie Howe wants to increase his options on the left wing and Newcastle are expected to win the race for Barnes, who is likely to cost around £35m. West Ham had been in pole position to land the winger, with Villa also in contention, but have been focused on the sale of Declan Rice to Arsenal and have not moved quickly enough.
In other words we're go to miss out on a good player because we are dithering again
Every year it’s the same. June & half of July is spent with social media rife with moaning fans, who complain about rumoured targets biting the dust, we’re going down etc. Come the end of August there becomes a collective ‘good business’. Then the season happens & it’s either rubbish signings or good depending on how we do.
Football Insider say that we are stepping up our bid for James Ward-Prowse with Fulham also in contention
But buried at the bottom of Thursday's article in the Guardian about Nevin leaving and us after Zakaria is the claim that "Southampton are desperate to sign Flynn Downes"
Season long loan would be my wish. I think we bought Downes for the right reasons and I think he will improve and is potentially a good premiership DM but needs to play. Being a key part of Southamptons push for the Championship could be just the experience he needs.

Its going to be a lot less crowded in the dressing room this season...
That's ones done then. Who's next.

Coufal - Zouma - Aguerd - Emerson
Paqueta - Soucek
Bowen - Fornals - Benrahma
Antonio
Areola, Ogbonna, Kehrer, Johnson, Cresswell, Downes, Cornet, Ings, Scamacca
That is basically our current squad, 18, plus Coventry, Vlasic & the academy lads.
It will all be ok.
