We need to make a decision on Scamacca. He has the potential to be our main striker next season if we feel he is good enough & want to invest that time & confidence in him, but he is clearly a very different striker to Antonio, playing in a very different way.
Antonio is 33 now & Ings is also not the future. I think there is a good chance both could leave this window but I think Ings is only likely to be an option off the bench & in Europe.
If Scamacca is our main man, then we can plan to build our team around him. I just feel there’s a lot of uncertainty at the moment & indecision about him. We need to decide whether we want another Antonio type striker, in which case we probably need to find Scamacca a new club or we need to tweak our attacking style to get the best out of him.
Just read that Harvey Barnes only had one assist last season ,if that's true came as a surprise to me thought it would be more ,still like him but perhaps 39 million instead of 40
Does Barnes really have a better end product than Benrahma though? I’d like him but it’s always struck me that we only ever hear about him during limited periods. Strikes me a little as a player who goes through fantastic form and then goes quiet for quite a long time. A lot of other fans see Benrahma on highlights and think he’s better than he is as well.
I like that Barnes would be a more direct threat, which I think we need to counter attack more, but I’m still a bit unsure about how consistent he is.
Barnes does currently play in a team that is set up to play attacking and free flowing football would he suit our manager?
He played in Rodgers’ dull Leicester team that passed the ball around for a month before getting forward and the rubbish Leicester team that got relegated this season. He’s not been playing for Barcelona.
Bowen does great in a Moyes team and I think Barnes would be similar.
@Jorderz, Didn't know you had a season ticket at the King Power Stadium? I have friends from Leicester who tell a different tale about their style of play.

My season ticket holding Leicester City friend describes it more like Jordan does tbh

I don't have a Leicester season ticket, it's based on watching them play us as well as any other Leicester games on TV when I don't have anything better to do.
If your friends say Leicester have been playing free-flowing football over the last few years then that must have been all the games I didn't see.

Barnes simplistically is quick direct and has end product. Him and Bowen on opposite sides IMO is about as good as it gets winger wise for West Ham. If we can truly get him it’ll be a coup.
Along with Alex Scott, that’d be two excellent arrivals. It may even satisfy my TF lust!

Benrahma has 15 goals & 15 assists in the last three PL seasons.
I’d say he has more end product.
34 apps, 13 goals, 1 assist
32 apps, 6 goals, 10 assists
25 apps, 9 goals, 4 assists
Benrahma (last 3 PL seasons)
35 apps, 6 goals, 3 assists
32 apps, 8 goals, 6 assists
30 apps, 1 goal, 6 assists
Of course these are not necessarily starts, but Benrahma has more appearances.
90mins reckon he wants Champions League plus they say he's already had offers from Marseille, Lazio and an unnamed Saudi club (or clubs)
Daily Mail adds Fenerbache to the list
Barnes..........2718...2105...1949
Benrahma...2071...2184...1389
Barnes 91 apps, 78 starts, 6770 minutes 28 goals, 15 assists
Benrahma 97 apps, 62 starts, 5640 minutes, 15 goals 15 assists
