WIth all his reported antics off the field, Maddison really doesn't strike me as a Moyes player at all.
Hopefully we are not looking at prospective new signings & saying he is not a David Moyes type player as we are surely making purchases for beyond this coming season after which he won't be around any more?
If Moyes has to sign off on any potential new players, then he's hardly going to agree to players he doesn't feel are suitable; his view will no doubt be that if he does well he'll earn another contract and will be here for the medium-long term.
The objection to Maddison would be based on his character rather than his ability or style of play, so could well be a valid objection for a number of managers.
buffy, Do you want to bet? He needs to change his go to style of play & I doubt he can do that. Let’s see how the DoF gets on with his recommendations and then I might just have a change of mind. 😉

If a player has a reputation that is going to be an issue with the harmony of the team, there's no way Moyes will accept him imo. If there is a conflict in playing style (between the new Technical Director and Moyes), then it may be that a compromise can be worked out, but if a player is a bad egg, I don't see it happening at all.
West Ham boss David Moyes is targeting Everton's Belgium midfielder Amadou Onana, 21, Juventus' Switzerland midfielder Denis Zakaria, 26, and Manchester United's England defender Harry Maguire, 28
Gossip today also mentions Hudson-Odoi at 15M with Forest interested (obviously). At that price I'd like him. That said, Mr Cornet can play there and maybe he will be like a new signing
Didnt see loads of Onana but what I did see I wasn't particularly impressed.
Certainly not enough to give Everton a profit for him. There were issues last summer though IIRC; wasn't there a sudden demand for much higher wages late on in the process, as well demands for guaranteed playing time. It had looked almost a done deal before we walked away I think; I think his sister is/was his agent and (I can hardly believe I'm going to say this) she wasn't very easy to deal with.
Not sure this rumour has legs tbh; if he didn't get Moyes's seal of approval last summer, I'm not sure he'll get it this summer either.

Apart from being Everton's most booked player - 10 yellow cards in 35 appearances - he doesn't seem to have made much of an impression. He's only 21 so might develop into a decent player
IMO think he looked average in a very average team when I saw him, a fair bit, but as said he’s young and was his first EPL season… Not sure he’s the right one for us now…
Barnes would be a good signing, but can’t see us having him plus Benrahma, Fornals & Cornet.
I think it could work. There was talk that Moyes might try Cornet up front (he does seem to like his converted wingers), and Fornals has never been a winger IMO, despite almost always being played out there.
So Barnes and Benrahma as LW options. Cornet as an auxiliary ST and Fornals as a CM/No10 option.

Benrahma is rumoured to want to leave & no I haven't got documentary proof of this rumour! Fornals may choose to go to get regular first team football, which would be a shame & Cornet will hopefully stay injury free and play more often than last season. Some say we need a big squad for domestic/Europe but David Moyes likes to use a small squad even if it means we start to tire towards the end of the season like a couple of years ago. Buying players from the Premier League always costs more so let's hope Tim Steidten has some in his sights we can obtain from outside England.

But we do need to be careful around the homegrown player rule.
Rice is all but gone, Johnson, Antonio and Downes have all been linked with a move away.
Hopefully Steidten can find some good value players from abroad, but I wouldn't be unhappy to see us drop a good chunk of the Rice money on HG players such as Barnes and Scott.
Whilst most, if not all, the focus has been on the Declan Rice transfer there has not been much sign of the Baroness Brady revelation kicking in with the Womens Team? It appears the situation is actually getting worse before it improves no manager currently in place and then this has been announced - https://www.whufc.com/news/west-ham-united-women-announce-player-departures.

We seem to have had a very high turnover of players in the last few windows.
I think the women's team will be a fledgling project and probably be gone by the end of the decade. I don't think the club truly see the value of the women's team and the growth in the WSL overall. For small investment (for a football club) capitalising on the womens game should actually be a priority with the growth its experiencing. Couple that with how well the England Womens team are doing is only going to enhance that.
buffy, Someone said on social media earlier on that the owners don't want a Womens team in the WSL which I admit can't be proved but it does look a bit like a Sully special where finishing one place above the relegation zone would be deemed a success.

What does that even mean? Moyes is going to start following him on Twitter and Instagram?
