Jesse Lingard is open to a move to Saudi Arabia.

Makes sense with staying close to his northern roots.

What a chance that guy had to revitalise his career when he finished his loan spell with us.
  • Guardian reports Kehrer could leave this summer, but no further information given.

    Rumoured outs (latest):

    Thilo Kehrer
    Ben Johnson
    Flynn Downes
    Declan Rice
    Gianluca Scamacca
  • Three of those only signed last summer.

If they go, there has to be some (more) serious questions asked about our recruitment strategy, IMO.
  • If Kehrer and Johnson both go, we would definitely need a new RB as well as a CB.
  • I would be very surprised if Kehrer or Downes left this summer, tbh. I would be less surprised by Scamacca or Johnson leaving, but I also think both will be here next year.

There's be talk of Kehrer going back to Germany; after limited game time at PSG I'm sure he thought he'd play a lot more with us, but he's not exactly nailed on at either RB or (thank goodness) CB. I'd be disappointed but not surprised if he goes.

Downes is a tough one, and I guess it depends who comes in. If, as many of us feel we should, we upgrade Soucek as well as bring in a replacement for Rice, Soucek gets relegated to the bench and Downes is pushed even further down the pecking order. How do we view Downes? He seemed to be tried all across the midfield in the games he played, I think Moyes needs to decide how he wants him to play.

Imo, the only way he might have a long term future with us would be as a purely holding player, like how Palhinha plays. Sit, break up play, pass the ball. Basically how Rice played a few seasons ago. He needs a run of PL games to see if he's up to it; however, I think that's unlikely given we need someone very good at that from game one this season, and he's yet to have a chance playing there to prove he can do it, hence the calls for Palhinha (or my preference, Sangare).

Downes needs a loan. Somewhere like Southampton or Leicester or Boro. He won’t be in our first 11 next season &, if he is, that would be a concern based on what I have seen so far.

Kehrer we all warmed to after the ECL final & he seems an all round top guy. But it doesn’t change the fact that for 80% of his appearances this season he was very unconvincing.
  • The suggestion seems to be that Moyes wants an out and out DM to play behind Paqueta and A.N. Other. If Palhinha is that DM, he'll need cover and I think that's where Downes fits in.

Potentially 50+ games again this season so need two good players for each position to allow for rotation. I'd be happy to keep Downes and for Moyes to use him a bit more in that role.

    And Emerson
Lazio’s back up if they fail to renegotiate with Juve for Pellegrini

If rumours are to be believed
  • I see your rumours out and raise you these rumours in -
Barnes, Paulinho, David, Goykares, Fofana, Wan Bissaka, Maguire, Tominay, Ward Prowse, Ballard.

    There are others I'm sure.
  • I am hoping our new DoF has several new younger players in his extensive files we can bid for who won't cost us too much due to them being purchased for their talents & potential re sale once they have trained on.

Yunus Musah from Valencia isn't going away, either.
  • PSG interested in Paqueta, latest rumour doing the rounds.
  • I think that came from 90mins? The tweet ended with 'West Ham have no intention to sell', which should put a swift end to that rumour.
  • Our new technical director starts work from 1st July, so we may not see too much incoming before then, although I suspect the club may want the Rice deal done by then.
  • I want the Rice deal done by then =)
  • So we’re going to have:
    Sporting Director: Mark Noble
    Technical Director: Tim Steidten
    Head of Recruitment: Rob Newman
  • Callum Hudson-Odoi linked today.

I don't think this is going to go away anytime soon.Paqueta has changed agents and apparently it's not only PSG who are interested but Newcastle as well.

  • I don’t think a club that’s serious about growing can realistically sell its two best midfielders in a single transfer window. I don’t see it happening
  • Paqueta is next in line to be the West Ham poster boy for the brand, so I can't see the club being at all keen to cash in. There shouldn't be a financial need to sell him and the only thing that might make it happen is if the player puts in a transfer request.

No idea whether Paqueta is that type of person or not. Guess we'll find out if the reported interest is genuine.
  • On another note sounds like Spurs might be signing Maddison for around £40m, seems reasonable, but guess it’s because he only has a year left on his contract ?
Back to Paqueta, trust the board will stop any other club is it’s tracks, but suppose money talks and as mentioned let’s hope the player himself doesn’t see the attraction of a move?
  • I am so not cool with Maddison going to Spurs (full stop) for 40M. The child in me wants to bid 60M and steal him away. If he was going to Newcastle or someone else than Spurs I'd understand it
  • WIth all his reported antics off the field, Maddison really doesn't strike me as a Moyes player at all.
  • It is a bit funny though because he’s an Arsenal fan and tweeted loads of nonsense about hating Spurs when he was young.
  • Oh dear. He'll get some stick for that...

Yeah, I read a couple of those earlier today, from 2012 or 2013 I think.
  • I think Maddison is a big mistake, undoubted talent but how long did Leicester actually get him performing at his best?

Hopefully we are not looking at prospective new signings & saying he is not a David Moyes type player as we are surely making purchases for beyond this coming season after which he won't be around any more?
