    To each their own, I guess. Maybe he's just not that ambitious (twelve years at Southampton might attest to that) and a move to Fulham, although a step up, wouldn't bring a great deal of pressure.

    They're a nice club in a nice part of London. Their ambition would, you assume, stretch to remaining a PL club with little expectation of anything else. Brentford will be pushing for Europe, we have it, so potentially he'd have the Thursday-Sunday schedule if he went to them or us, and with a young son maybe he doesn't fancy that.

    Nathan Trott has gone out on loan again for another season with Danish side Vejle BK. He's the second confirmed 'out' of the window following Lanzini's release.

    With those two gone and assuming Rice is going, we'll be heading into pre-season with a 23 man first-team squad, which includes 3 'keepers.

    Of the remaining 20, there are big question marks over the futures of Scamacca and Vlasic, whilst Ogbonna has yet to sign his contract extension.

    There are 17 days until our first pre-season friendly before the squad flies out to Australia. I hope we have a few 'ins' before then because we're already looking a little bit stretched, assuming the U21s will stay in the UK for their own pre-season games.

    Yeah, I suppose my worry is that we suffered with players joining so late last year. None of Scamacca, Paqueta or Cornet had a pre-season with us, so had to learn on the job, so to speak, and we suffered as a team because of that, IMO.

    I'm hoping that although the new Technical Director hasn't been announced, work has been ongoing around transfers with him, and we're just waiting for Rice to go before we get deals signed off.

    Did Scamacca say anything? I can only see a few different websites talking about the one, same story and no quotes from the player himself. Stop spreading rumours.

    Does anyone know if there is any truth in the rumour that Tim Stiedten has signed but David Moyes wants him to bed in first for about six months before we can announce his appointment?

    Seems unlikely anyone would expect something like that to stay a secret for 6 months. Is he going to wear a paper bag on his head?
