  • MrsG, They all tell the truth don't they, so I don't need a list, otherwise why do they post? =)
  • If Fabrizo Romano ain’t saying #letsgo it ain’t happening!

I dislike him the most. Mouthpiece for agents.
  • ASLEF, I find that quite sad

    Why?

The Big Six have been in the top flight for decades, won titles & Cups (except Spurs) and had regular European football.

In 2020 we avoided relegation, last season we were in the Group Stage of a European competition for the first time ever.

I don't think we're much of a better prospect for players than clubs like Leicester, Newcastle, Villa or Everton.
  • ASLEF, Those clubs have managed to sign the likes of Fofana, who we messed up signing due to Mr Sullivan negotiating in his own way, Tielemans, Maddison, Saint Maxim, Gomes, Richarlison, Kamara, Coutinho, Carlos. I am really tired of hearing reasons why we can’t sign players when other “supposed” similar clubs in stature can.
  • Where did all those players finish in comparison to us? The last two seasons?

But they also signed Almiron, Slimani, Keane and Buendia.

Couldn’t there be a forum out there where they are saying “they’ve managed to sign Soucek, Bowen, Zouma, Fornals”?

We’ve made some very good signings. So have our competitions. We’ve made some bad ones. So have they.
  • Lukerz, Are we saying that most of the players I quoted wouldn't improve our team/squad plus there is also Guimaraes?
  • No, we will never know. All I know is I have learnt from the last few years not to envy other clubs signings & focus on ours, especially when most of them have achieved nothing at their new clubs.

Lukerz, I will be delighted to focus our "many", as there needs to be, signings when they all arrive as long as they are of the "right" quality. =)

If only football was so simple

You can't just pick out gems while ignoring all the trash that other clubs have bought
  • WHU, When you are highlighting that other clubs who some believe are on par with us, can sign the type of players we should be interested in, then it is ok to mention their better signings otherwise it loses its affect. IMHO.

I don't see how any of those players had bigger reputations than the likes of Zouma, Areola, Haller, Fornals, Bowen etc.

    Can't sign EVERYONE

All I know is some thought Villa and Leicester had 'won the window' last year but neither had great seasons
  • Ex says "Nayef Aguerd is now in the country and the club are hoping to tie up the deal by the weekend. He needs to complete a medical which sometimes can be a two day process. The club are expected to start negotiations for the departure of Issa Diop as soon as Aguerd signing is confirmed.”

Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth claims we will take up the £11m buy option for Areola but we are still negotiating personal terms but French radio station RMC Sport reckon Newcastle might be after Areola too,

Daily Mirror says Moyes wants to sign Adnan Januzaj on a free (Moyes gave him his first start at Man U). Daily Mirror also reports that Liverpool are open to offers of £10m+ for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain who has one year left on his contract with us and Villa as contenders.
  • Stay well away from Oxlade Chamberlain, guys a sick note and hasn't had regular football for years....hes 28 years old and on big wages

If we would go for someone like that we should just stump up the cash for Lingard, as we know that he can fit in here and unlike Ox hasn't struggled with injuries

Never seen Januzaj play since he was in England as a kid

Quick look on whsocored says he hasn't exactly thrived in Spain, done OK but he doesn't have a lot of starts weather that's down to injuries or them having better options I'm not sure
  • Januzaj + Daily Mirror = link every player Moyes ever signed/started/once sat next to on the bus.

Aguerd will be a good start to our business. Hopefully Areola too come in too.

Would like to see a LB come in as another starter and another AM to come in as a starter (Cornet or Dennis or even both)

Then add some depth in central midfield and striker positions.
  • We need a striker starter imo.
  • i think so too but it sounds like from previous posts that Moyes is looking for a Young striker to come in and step in i guess rather than push Antonio to the bench.

So a minimum of seven or eight then?

Moyes doesn't seem to do "strikers".

2017/18 we ended the season with Arnautovic as our main striker in preference to Carroll (when he wasn't injured), Hernandez, Ayew or Hugill

2019/20 we ended the season with Antonio preferred to Haller (until Haller left) and have carried on that way

Still think Adama Traoré would fit in well and could be moulded in to a Striker, it’s what Moyes does.
Doesn’t look like Barca will take up option to buy and seems like Spurs are pursing other targets.
  • This, very much this.👆
  • I reckon we need to add to the quality that we have already, so bring in maybe three or four at the most. Six, seven or eight sounds like a total rebuild to me which taking into account what this group of players had achieved in the last two seasons seems a bit odd.
  • I just don't trust that Traore will ever be anything other than a pace merchant with no end product. I fully get that he has all the ingredients, but I just don't believe in him

I dare you to tell him that Ald 😜
    🧱 💩 🏡
  • I'll tell him it and then run away, he probably won't catch me

Even if he did catch you,he probably wouldn't know what to do next
  • Ald will baffle him with some stats leaving him dazed and confused, allowing for him to escape
