Atalanta are apparently the Southampton of Serie A, they pick up bargains then sell them on for a stonking profit but unlike Saints they've finished 3rd three seasons in a row
I had never heard of Milenkovic until this window, so I don’t know how good he is, but you’d hope that he’s a step up on what we have (or at least had in Balbuena)

We were in for him last summer, but the £25m that Fiorentina wanted then was considered too much.
Very good player. Would be very pleased if we got this one over the line.
Back three might be a useful formation in the Europa League as well. We could be playing teams who are far more used to that format and it worked so well with us whenever we were against a stronger team.
OCS, IF we get him do you think he will be a regular starter?
I would think so. He plays as a RCB for Fiorentina and Serbia, so would definitely start in a back three, IMO, and I would imagine he'd play on the right side of a two with Ogbonna in a four.
I've not studied him in any depth, but from what I've seen of him he's a better defender than Diop and Dawson. But like OCL says, maybe it'll be a case of horses for courses initially and Dawson would start in the PL games and Milenkovic introduced in the EL.
IF this is correct does it mean we can put the money set aside for a CAM on a new LB/LWB or more importantly a CF?
Tbf I like him I'm that role, always influences the game more when he's there compared to the wing
Also allows Fornals to give protection on the left, something Moyes is a big fan of
Still don't think LB/LWB is a problem for right now
We have 2 players for that position, Cresswell and Masuaku, don't see us bringing one in unless one of those two leave, also Johnson as 3rd choice cover as although it isn't his natural position always think he's been pretty solid when called upon
WHU, So we can expect two big signings, not so much in height, but more in the size of the fee for a CH & CF. 🙏
I'd be more than happy with that
Hopefully Milenkovic comes off, that will be two signings that go into the starting XI who have a long career ahead of them
Then priority would be a CF followed by and a new AM (which I still think we need)
Tbf with the AM I think we already have 3 solid players for those roles, wouldn't be adverse to a loan move for depth, and hopefully Oxo-Flex (who has looked very good in preseason) could potentially be drafted as a option for 6th choice cover
I think that would be an entirely reasonable position to take for him. He is currently based in Italy and Juventus are a Champions League side. Rather than question his commitment to us were he to choose us over Juventus we would probably need question his sanity!
I can understand him wanting to join Juventus over us. I was just picking up on some of the comments from those who don't want us to sign players who view West Ham as a second choice to their preferred destination.

Seems like it’s close 👀

If you post here, I'll delete it

Plus he's lived in Italy since 2017, he's engaged to a lady he's been with since he was at Partizan Belgrade and maybe she's happy in Italy
