I really like Loftus-Cheek, I think he needs a regular run in a team to show his quality. The other year playing left midfield for Palace he was excellent. I would be really happy with him
He was shocking in a game recently. I watched it with my neighbour who is a Chelsea fan. Was The Brighton game I think. Not saying he's always bad but in this particular game he had no interest in working for the team.
Wasn't he being played as a striker alongside Timo Werner when he's usually an attacking/central midfielder?
I think he'd be good for our midfield. A solid CM who gets forward. More suited to modern formations than Lanzini and a bit more robust than Fornals (who rarely ends up playing CM anyway).
How on earth could Chelsea agree terms when he is under a long contract with us. If it’s true both Chelsea and Rice are in breach of contract and rules UNLESS GBS have told him it’s ok.
Like as been said on here they the owners know what they have to spend ie from 0 to 100 million, so to sell rice so late in the window with no time for replacements is nothing short of criminal, why didn’t they say to moyes sell rice and you can have it to strengthen I’d have been upset but could have understood it but if any truth in rice leaving now well I’d take my head for a wobble, this club is a laughing stock and my love for it is being tested by these three clowns 🤡
Sky Sports' Kaveh Solhekol told The Transfer Show:
"West Ham have made bids for him but Burnley are asking for up to £50m for James Tarkowski. What's emerged this afternoon is that John Percy of the Daily Telegraph reported that Leicester have made a bid of around £30m for the centre-back. They were interested in signing him last summer but it appears that bid has been rejected.
"Burnley are sticking to their guns in saying that is not enough and they want more for him. I think the player would be interested in going to Leicester over West Ham given they can offer European football.
"David Sullivan said that the club weren't in a position to pay £40m on one player last week, but Burnley will not let him go on the cheap."
So the Fofana deal has gone the way of so many others in the last few years. We make an offer with terms that are highly unlikely to be acceptable to the selling club, they refuse it & then we can say we tried but failed, Groundhog Day.
I know it must be me being very gullible but I can't fathom why the press keep wasting column inches linking us with players when we don't have any money. I know it fills some space on a page for them unless Declan is actually going to leave?
Stones at Man City appears to stand no chance of a game. If they buy Dias from Benfica he'll be even further down the list. If he kerbs his instinct to go walkabout and concentrates on being a proper centre back, who can use the ball, then he's worth a punt on loan.

Because there aren’t column inches anymore! There are clicks that get ad revenue and analytics that tell you West Ham fans probably click anything desperation
Chelsea boss Frank Lampard wants the Stamford Bridge club to attempt to sign 21-year-old West Ham midfielder Declan Rice. Any move for the England international could lead to Italy midfielder Jorginho moving to Arsenal.(Mirror)
Surely there is no chance we will sell Declan this summer. Next summer, maybe. But not now with no signings made. We’ll just tell him he can go next year. He’ll be fine with that.
The thing is, there has not been much to truly debate re Rice because I doubt that since the window has opened, there has even been a single bid for him. So it is all hypothetical.
However I have always thought Chelsea WILL bid for him, but do so very late. They will see a club on its knees (West Ham) and will put their foot on the jugular in the next week I reckon. But I reckon the bid will be no more than £50m and will be designed to “turn his head”. If I were Chelsea, that is what I would do. Yes we could of course say no, but it will definitely then impact Deccers.
So you don't think Rice already knows there is an incoming bid due from Chelsea? I think he does, but at this stage it will need to be a 'knockout' bid and not a lowball £50m.

Rudiger and Loftus-Cheek for Deccers
How does the Express get away with printing this without any response from the player himself?
What if anything should we read into this?
So if it's true re the St Ettienne 19 year old, that really makes sense....or who's deciding who we should buy.....
Comedy Gold IMO ( And sadly not referring to the better of the 2 David's...)

It is how the money is spent. Who knows if we actually have a decent scouting set up or does sully just call up his “trusted” agents for suggestions.
£50m plus the supposed £30m already there which is spent well is a better outcome than £60m for him then blown on poor signings.
