Ajax, PSV Eindhoven and Fulham are interested in West Ham's Grady Diangana, in spite of the Hammers accepting a bid from West Brom for the forward.
  • West Ham and England midfielder Declan Rice, 21, has been urged to stay at the club by an unlikely source... WWE wrestler Triple H. (BT Sport)

citing that Declan may have trouble walking if he doesn't =)
  • I am going to take a punt and say that our back up striker acquisition will be Troy Deeney on loan. And Sully would do it purely because it would outrage fans yet he won’t have to hear any protests whilst there are no crowds.
  • This club is mental
  • I'm going to be majorly disappointed if we sell Diangana but if we're selling him in order to bring someone in like Said Benrahma then I'll accept that.

Calcio Morcato reports we could sign Fabio Borini on a free although Moyes didn't seem too keen on him when they were at Sunderland.
  • This whole “we need to sell to buy” thing is really damaging as a transfer strategy.

If I knew that ASLEF really wanted to buy a new sofa but the only way he could do it would be to sell me his current sofa and he was desperate to do so, then I would be be lowballing the heck out of that offer.

If clubs know we NEED to sell, why come in early and bit big bucks for players? Wait it out and pick people up on the cheap. We’ll probably sell nobody and then need to flog Declan Rice to Chelsea for £30m.
  • the owners will hear free and that's it , in regardless and claim a massive signing

Not exactly sure how the first one will happen if some of the monies are being used to pay for Haller - unless Brentford are happy to sell him for £5m

I can totally believe the second will happen as he ticks all the boxes for another miserable WHU signing. Let’s bring him in on £100k a week
  • I feel genuinely sad about the prospect of Diang leaving.
  • If Moyes harboured hopes of replicating the Red Bull model at a football club, I’m afraid he has chosen the wrong club and in particular the wrong owners to do it with.

I rarely get irate at the owners and is not reaching the heights they claim to aim for, because I just don’t think it’s realistic. All I really want from West Ham is to play decent football, and be a club that develops young players (bought or from the academy). If we aren’t doing that, and we clearly aren’t challenging for silverware or European places, then what is the point? What does this club offer?

ASLEF, if you send me some pics and dimensions, I might be interested in your sofa. Please do not succumb to Alderz’ cheeky low ball offer.
  • Yeah we definitely need some more details, colour style etc

And is it big enough to hide behind
  • I'm prepared to take the sofa on loan, then pay in instalments if it performs well

Apparantely its £18mio upfront for Diang with 20% sell on clause selling to improve defence as no offers for any of our other players
  • Makes sense if those figures are right
  • So basically they're softening the blow of losing Diangana by promising to buy a defender with the money.

Then, if the Diangana deal doesn't go through because the player or Moyes refuses it, they'll be blamed for us shipping another 50+ goals next season.

Also, how can we still not have paid Frankfurt the Haller installment? We've already been reported to FIFA about it. We got £5m or so for Ajeti and Hugill, and have saved £250k week since June (c.£4m). Where has that money gone?
  • Steps to a successful transfer window:
    1. Sell Diangana for not enough money
    2. Promise to buy a defender either the funds raised
    3. Can’t find a defender for that price l
    4. Tell everyone we tried

The idea that you sell Diangana because we have too many wingers...yet the only one who has performed recently is Bowen, so we end up potentially trying to buy another one. Which also means we surely aren't buying Benrahma?
  • I feel like I’m labouring the point slightly now, but also I’m really cross. I’ve been very ok with no spending this window, because I’ve been viewing Diangana and Johnson as new signings essentially, and now I feel really short changed and mad.
  • And to top it all off there are now like three other buyers for ASLEFs sofa
  • Ooh is there a sofa going? Interested.

So potentially, our transfer strategy could work because everyone thinks there's a deal on ASLEF's sofa but then they end up hiking the price?

Yeah, I don't think I'll stop being angry about this until the season is out of the way. Academy player finally has a successful loan, comes back hungry, and instead of it being a reward, he's sold against his wishes. Great message for any young player coming through about your chances. Better to be extremely average and highly paid, not even playing the final games of the season, than to prove yourself and want to play for us. I wonder why Ngakia left...
  • I’m actually wondering why on Earth would Rice want to stay?

Also, does it matter even if he does want to stay? If we get a decent offer the owners will flog him anyway. We’ve had our problems with players tantruming and leaving and when one wants to stay we force him out.
  • Who have we forced out then?
  • Sky sports doing a "back page" round up.....The Star reports Chelsea might want to sign Rice...... wow, that's real finger on the pulse , up to date shock new news!

I think it’s fairly clear from the last 50 or so comments on this thread, but if it is the case that Diangana wants to stay and is angry the club have accepted an offer for him, then I would say we have forced him out, at least to a certain extent
