  • I've just looked at our current squad. I'm struggling to see too many players that other PL teams would actually want. Rice, Soucek, Bowen and Diangana is about it. Possibly Antonio, but he's always a sprint away from a hamstring tear.

It looks so old and tired. Fabianski, Cresswell, Noble, Snodgrass, Yarmolenko; can you see anyone decent bidding for these? Wilshere and Reid are basically ruined as footballers, Anderson and Lanzini have mentally checked out of West Ham, IMO.

It's only the players in the first paragraph that get me at all excited about West Ham, and one of those is off to West Brom for a pittance, and I wouldn't be surprised if Rice was gone by the month's end.

The state of our squad shows just how little strategy there's been in our transfers over the years, and I'm actually at the point now where I'd question the integrity of any player that joins the club.

  • In other news

Villa have a £14mil rising to £16mil bid for Cash accepted

How are they getting more money than we are for Grady

Also Watkins wont leave for £28mil.....how are we getting out manoeuvred by Championship clubs

If this deal happens IMO our owners have gone from pretty shrewd business men who have made fortunes in the past to pushovers who are easy to buckle and accept the first offer that comes in. Fair enough that we don't have the facts ot know if it is true etc, but if so....Oh dear......
Diang could have been part of our future......
    Doesn't look like it now...
Our future does look very bleak.
I am feeling down about our club before a ball has been even kicked this new season...

I have always tried not to knock our owners, because it's their cash not mine...but my support of them is seriously waining...

We spent the whole summer praising Stanislas before we got rid of him as well...(I think Grady is a bigger talent but Stanislas hasn't had a shabby career)
  • how are we getting out manoeuvred by Championship clubs

  • I can only think that we are about to default on another transfer instalment due and the reason for selling Grady is that he is the only member of our squad that any other club had actually made a bid for.
  • so this is what the next level looks like, to be fair they next said level up or level down.

This image seems to have been removed from the club.
  • Yep, only one reason that would be.

It's strange, every time I think my opinion of GSB couldn't get any lower, they always manage to find a way.

I'm convinced Rice is going too, by the way. Been a distinct lack of media from and around him over the summer, which given he is our top name, speak volumes for me.
  • I feel deflated already and I hate myself for it. I should be used to the constant let downs by now
  • Irrespective of who the player is, this contradicts everything we've been told about our "plan".
  • No fans in the stadium so no protest seems to be the plan
  • how are we getting out manoeuvred by Championship clubs

Because we are becoming a championship club
  • Just been reading some of the baggies fans comments. They are absolutely delighted and cannot believe whu are selling him to them.

Since Payet left I have found very little to get excited about with this club but watching Diang play was the first time I have genuinely felt a positive vibe. He actually put me in mind of Payet and I was looking forward to the season even with no new signings.

If the rumours are true I am totally deflated and just feel that the two spivs who own the club have taken us all for a ride with the ground sale and are continuing to do so. I usually don’t wish Ill on anybody but with these two I am struggling.

I wonder what Moyes thinks about it. I was looking forward to the new season but this kick in the teeth has made me think who cares. The owners obviously don’t and will be hoping we scrape our way to safety again this year.

I’m sick of it and them.
  • I’ve been away for a few days. Was shocked to come back back to this news. Has this been confirmed?
Might as well sell Rice now as the club surely has no ambitions!

Of course Diang could have said no couldn't he? If he doesn't want to be here then sell him is a mantra I've heard on here and elsewhere. Strange when it appears it may happen lots of people get all het up.
If he does go and we get a LB then all is well as far as I'm concerned.
  • I'm pretty shocked and disappointed by this, if true.

One of the few players I was excited to see this season, and promised to be like a new signing (likely the only new signing) in the forward positions.

    Pretty gutted, to be honest.

You do seem to be in a minority IH, but we all entiltled to our own opinions..

I said we don't have the facts & who knows the truths, I did read somewhere that he wanted guarantees that he will be in 1st team etc etc...So if true, you could say no one bigger than the club...

But to sell 1 of our own up and coming stars to me does not bode well...

We have needed a new LB for ages...nothing new there

    Not so strange IMO
  • Pointless getting het up over this as it is what it is or will be. He’s played two pre season games for us and people seem to think he’s the next Messi. He’s not even a proven PL player. It may be that he wants a guaranteed first team place and the club can’t make that commitment.
Who knows, I don’t but I hope Moyes knows what the reasons are.
  • Well if he wanted guarantees, it’s worrying a team battling relegation couldn’t convince two of its academy graduates that there’s a place for them, losing them to teams at the same or worse levels.
  • What I don’t get is we are rumoured to use the money to bid for benhrama from Brentford who will cost more probably higher wages as well and not played in the prem. if we buy a left back or cb ok but not another attacking player please
  • Is Benrahma not a tricks and flicks type player? Havent see too much of him, but it's a lot of step overs and nutmegs

Scored a lot of goals and assists the last 2 years, but he is 25, so older than Fornals

He could be a great signing (if true) but selling Grady for £12mil and buying Benraham for £25mil when we really need a LB just makes no sense
  • Benrahma reminds me of Payet.
  • I see him more of a Mahrez.
  • I read it more of a Berhami
  • HAMMERS SIGN ASHLEY

West Ham have signed Ossama Ashley following his release by AFC Wimbledon this summer.

The 20-year-old midfielder impressed on trial with the Hammers and has earned a one-year contract with the option of another year.
  • Another youngster who won't be seen or heard of again.
  • He’ll be signing for Luton in 12 months
