  • The only thing I could think of that would've topped it would've been the Argies also going out yesterday

(That 'dont mention the VAR' is a total classic Munich ;lol )
  • A mate of mine just sent me

    Don't mention the VAR

THAT belongs on a newspaper headline.

    ;lol
  • No wonder people still don't quite understand VAR when you have the BBC reporting
Kim Young-gwon's 92nd-minute goal, awarded after a video assistant referee decision,
    ;doh
  • A colleague of mine just came into my office and said “I am wondering what it says about me that seeing Germans cry, kind of makes me happy”

I told him that it was perfectly normal and that it did not make him a bad person.

    ;lol
  • Well Germany going out certainly makes up for my disappointment at Argentina grabbing a late winner and the fat cheat celebrating in the stands last night......karma.

    I mean, it's technically correct, Mrs G.

A video referee decided it should be reviewed. After that it was reviewed and given. ;wink
  • Leroy Sane Yeah, Leroy Sane Yeah, you didn't call him up, you really messed it up. Now your out the cup.

  • outcast ;lol

I suppose so, but there was an intervening stage (the ref review).

It's as accurate as saying the goal was awarded after Niklas Sule conceded a corner.
  • So, I don't imagine anyone had those results in the predictor.
  • I'd have gone for a 2-0 to Germany and a draw between Mex and Sweden which is one of the reasons I didn't spend time doing the predictions! ;wahoo
  • Erm. No!

Even if I had of predicted those scores at the start of the game, they wouldn't have been those scores at the end of the games. ;lol

Baz, I went 3-0 Germany and Mexico 2-0 Sweden. Which are two of the reasons I didn't spend time higher up the table. ;lol ;doh
  • Only one piece of music that sums it up

    ;biggrin
  • Everybody seems to be talking about VAR, is all this about VARdy.
  • Serbia v Brazil on ITV. Sam Matterface and Lee Dixon on comms, one of the better comms pairing so far.
  • ;ok That's what I'm watching.

    Neymar ;doh
  • Neymar again, playacting. Drives me crazy when players who are so skilled still feel the need to cheat.
  • But the thing is you can’t cheat anymore with VAR. Seems more like stupidity to me!

You can. VAR is limited. Goals, pens, red cards and mistaken identity. If a player pretends he got whacked, in the middle of the park, unless it's a red the decision is in the hands of the on field ref.
  • Btw, this game is lively ;wahoo
  • Ah yes. You’re talking about Neymar getting the other player a yellow card, and wanting him to get another yellow card later on.
  • Yes. That sort of thing ;ok

  • Not sure if this has been mentioned, but changing the subject slightly, I only watched patches of Morocco’s last game and kept hearing Manuela Da Costa mentioned. I thought it rather coincidental that he had the same name as the Portuguese centre back who used to play for us - until I googled it and found out he is one and the same having chosen to switch countries before he actually ever played for the full Portuguese side!
  • Thread title tweaked: use this for all matches not involving England. If you want to talk about England, please join us here http://www.whu606.com/discussion/10602/world-cup-ko-en-ger-land-en-ger-land-en-ger-land-was-group-g#latest
  • France v Argentina, one of those games where I want both to lose. I feel dirty, but I'm supporting France for this one.
