Does that matter? If they look at two players and think that one is worth £18m (for example) and the other is worth £12m, i assume that means they would be happy to pay more for the one they think is worth more money.
alderz i don't actually think they have that sort of money for this window. Unless Payet is already gone. Hence the lowball offers for every player we have asked for.
Sky Bet report good business in the Stewart Downing market this afternoon and have cut the Middlesbrough man to join West Ham from 12/1 to 5/2. Crystal Palace are still the even-money favourites, with Sunderland also prominent in the betting at 6/1.
He's 3/1 to stay at Boro - click here for the full market ;lol
They have the £20m that would have been due for Zaza around this time if things had turned out different.
Allegedly been due. ;wink
Also, it might not have all been up-front payments. So it might not be an actual £20m in the piggy bank.
Plus, if Dimi has been playing up, and they knew they weren't keeping Zaza, they may have been raiding said piggy bank for Dimi sweeteners. Where else has that money come from, do you think?

That would've been pretty irresponsible given that if they knew Zaza was going, they would also have known we would need another striker.

HAMMERS TO KEEP FEGHOULI?
Sky sources understand West Ham were in talks to let Sofiane Feghouli join Valencia this month.
But, when a West Ham fan suggested the club should keep Feghouli, Hammers co-chairman David Gold tweeted...
I think you're right. dg
Like one tweet would make them change their mind.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, West Ham are the latest Premier League club linked with Napoli forward Manolo Gabbiadini.
Southampton and Swansea are reportedly keeping tabs on the Italy striker too.

This article is a very good read, mainly about the strikers signed by Sullivan and Gold. They even have a list at the bottom.
As a total, they have scored 125 in 641 games (19.5%).
Carlton Cole's record for us was 55 in 256 (21.5%).
Should we be targeting Cole? ;hmm ;biggrin
