From what I have read re Gomez its sound like Valencia only want to sign with another player in part ex as they have FFP issues and Celta disagree with the player's value. Gomez has agreed personal terms with us and Valencia. Celta are probably playing us off against Valencia to get the highest transfer fee going which is what you would expect. I think this will rumble on a bit like Anderson did and we will end up signing him for about £30 million.

Has there been any rumours about Arnie leaving?

It's all gone very quiet on that front

Either we sell him for a good £35mil or we get a striker who has scored 10 goals in the last 3 consecutive seasons

He is, but he also apparently is unhappy about not enough game time. So, I guess if his main motivation is money then he'll stay here, but if he really wants game time he'll be happy to take a bit of a paycut. At the end of the day, he's 31 now (or will be this month, can't remember if it's happened yet and don't have time to check). Taking a paycut at this stage of his career to guarantee game time is not that uncommon.

He will have to take a pay cut to move regardless 31 years old and to a non PL club. Unless he goes to the MLS or China he isn't going to get the same wages as he does here. Though I doubt Celta could offer him even half of what he is being paid currently.

Only a vague rumour that Inter sent scouts to Austria's game against Macedonia last week although they weren't neccesarily checking out Arnie.

We're not going to get £35m for him from the Chinese who are nearly halfway through their season and all the teams have the maximum of four foreign players apart from bottom place Tianjin Tianhai.
