I really think we need a winger after carvalho... feel as though Ayew isn't a winger... which leaves us with Antonio, Arnie and snodgrass ( who should be on his way out too) so we literally have two wingers... not enough for a season imo
Under the proposals, Premier League sides would not be able to add to their squads once the season begins.
However, clubs from other European leagues could sign players from England in line with their own domestic deadlines.
Does anyone else think that's a daft idea? If a club got a good offer for a player from a big club like Real Madrid then they'd either have to accept it and not be able to replace the player or reject it and possibly have a player in a Payet-like sulk until the January transfer window.
I don't think we need other European Leagues to follow suit. Or alternatively we could stop playing football in the middle of the cricket season, start the EPL later and make all the dates fit.
I don't think we need other European Leagues to follow suit.
If they don't then there's no point changing it. As Aslef says, it won't lead to a 'settled squad' for the start of the league, as other clubs in Europe can still come in and take your players.
I think the Russian and Chinese windows are open after ours close already so I can't see it being a problem . I would prefer it was done and dusted by the start of the season.
I think it's a problem, because the Chinese and Russian leagues aren't an appear to most of the big players. It seems to me that it would severely impact our league if we couldn't bring new players in but the likes of Coutinho, De Gea, Hazard get poached to other leagues.
Until is happens it will be hard to tell, big clubs will always poach players but if the window is closed the selling club will be less inclined to sell and English clubs are in the strongest position in years to hold on to their players. If a player throws a strop because a big club comes in for them they can do that anytime . Players will know if they want a move they are more likely to get it before the deadline.
See this is a load of rubbish. It was reported last week that a decision wouldn't be made until after the qualifiers. Now they're trying to make out it's stalled. Just go away journalists.
Surely most clubs in most of the major leagues would prefer to have a settled side once the season starts. No reason not to have the summer transfer window across all European leagues to close on 31st July. All business is resolved before any of the major leagues start, clubs in most leagues have a week or 2 to get all new signings settled before the season starts.
A transfer window from 01/06 to 31/07 would be perfect. It would mean the clubs start with a settled side and almost 9 weeks should be more than enough to arrange transfers.
;hmm I could see problems because of the impact of the summer competitions (World Cup, European Cup) which would basically take a month out of that window. Leaving about 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after to do transfers. I can't see clubs, players or agents being too keen.
Mrs G it needs 14 PL clubs to vote for it and according to SSN a majority of clubs have reported they're in favour of it so it could possibly get through.
To me it has never made any sense that the window remains open after the season has started. It should open midnight of the last day of the season at close midnight a day or two before the season starts again.
It opens on 1 July because most contracts run until the end of June but a simple change to make contracts expire 31 May would enable window to run from 1 June until say 15 August.
I wonder what would happen if the window was for new signings AND sellings.... ;hmm That would get round the problem of the window closing here but European clubs being able to still buy your players leaving you no time to get in a replacement.

As a winger, I think Ayew is best on the left. Otherwise, he's more of a roaming supporting striker.

If we get carvalho ;pray i think that could be it for this transfer window.
You couldn't extend the PL season either as this would clash with Internationals.
Only a few teams in Europe can take players from England if the English club doesn't want to sell them
This won't change, the teams that are effected will be the top 6 as the only clubs that will have players that Barca Madrid etc want.

It's so logical it will never happen ;doh
